What system should I get?
 

I have enough money for either 2 GB SP's or a Gamecube. I want to SP's so I can do multiplayer with friends on long band trips. I want a Gamecube so I can play all the titles I love. Zelda, Mario, etc. etc.

and dont say I should get a virtual vagina or something.

Oh, well then +1 for being smart enough to do that already. I'd go with upgrading your computer.

2 SPs arn't worth it.
Gamecube will be left in the dust soon, becuase of the Revolution and other Next Gens.

yeah the sp's are kinda crap. When I look at the titles available for them nothing pops out at me.

I grew up with nintendo. I still have my Gameboy Brick, along with Super mario. My NES is still in working condition. I game weekly on my N64 with Goldeneye and Starfox. I also just trust nintendo more.

I just found out that the fans in the back of the gamecube have a tendancy to break. one of my friends has gone through 3 gamecubes already. :/

ive tried that. it's over-rated. you have to buy stuff for it, hold it, talk to it, comfort it, and listen to its nagging and bitching. all that for 2 hours of happiness. sorry.

edit: I have decided to get a DS. It has some decent titles coming out for it. I also love the wireless, picto chat, dual screens, stereo sound.

I bought a Game Cube for my kids and its great, lots of games and the play is fine. Mario Kart rules

eh, i think the DS is going to be like the sega saturn. It has 1 or 2 cool games. It'll be lost in the market once the larger systems and PSP grab hold. The game production numbers will go down and it'll eventually die out.

It's only real competition is the PSP - The console market really doesn't effect the handheld market, which Nintendo has dominated since its beginnings....

I think it'll win over the PSP, personally....

I highly doubt the PSP will trump the DS. The DS has sooo many possibilities. The fact you can chat using both voice and text over 802.11 is excelent.
If you want to play multiplayer with someone you dont have to shell out 100 bucks for 2 coppies of the game. Only one person out of a group of 4 has to have the game because it automatically downloads onto the DS. Im thinking I could also use the text based engine inside it as a palm pilot type thing for school.
