Even though its a "new" card its not much more than a speed bump with a few more fsaa modes tossed in. People should not be suckered in by the fact that this is supposodly nvidia's "ultra" version of the card, it's being sold for a premium price but when r520 launches id expect a new ultra version with 32 pipelines to come out to counter it, which relegates this board to the gt position.

Meh thats all bs, the only score ive seen is for crossfire x850's which was around 14000 3d marks and they were cooled by phase change.

Check out the reviews on hardocp.com, shows the image quality it can produce with the new fsaa modes.

The nv card has a new form of antialiasing which antialiases alpha textures, have a look at the hl2 chain link fence to see what it does.

IM still happy enough with my x800 visual quality though.

I agree 10000%... I mean I was looking forward to this card seeing as I am an Nvidia Fanboy...but DAMN, its SO depressing to me. I mean if this is Nvidia's Flagship card...(ultra?!HAHAH) then ATI is going to blow them out of the GPU Scene. I mean there is NO WAY they expect this thing to compete with the r520, so LIKE I said in the other thread...why? Just WAIT for the Ultra or get the r520...dont drop $600 + (single card) or $1,600+ (SLi) for this card...not worth it IMO.

Anways, as far as your pics geRV, that looks DAMN good...you ever post what FPS u are getting in BF2 with those graphics? Cause damn dude that looks NICE. Never knew a ATI could pull that off ;) j/k

Can see my fps in this screen

OMG...and with that screen shot RIGHT there, I have now converted from Nvidia to ATI....been doing some second guessing research...and thats it dude...I am going with the X850XTPE....I cant help it...I just GOTTA! lol Damn man, my current system wont get 10 fps on LOW settings...I need a gaming boost here ;) Thx geRV, needed that man.

Damn right man, :)

Instead of upgrading by buying, I am thinking about flashing bios to X800XTPE, and overclocking to the xtpe speeds - with proper cooling, of course...but this wont be for at least another 2 years.

Why get a X850 when you can get a 7800GTX for $50 more?

7800GTX destorys the competition in BF2.

I wouldn't base too much around those numbers, the retail release runs a lot smoother and seems to load alot quicker than the demo, all that stuttering crap has disappeared for me with the full version.

If a card can run a game at a constant 60 fps on high settings, then its good to go.

Its getting phased out but at the same time the pci-e market is fucking tiny, just gets annoying seeing companies make boards specifically for pci-e to try and make people upgrade their shit when agp 8x would have been perfectly fine for the next few years at least. One of the most stupid comments i seen on this caem from ati, they were asked would there be an agp version of the r-520, they answered saying "possibly if theres a demand for it". oOo: Course theres gonna be a fucking demand for it, for every 5 pci-e motherboard owners theres probably more than a few thousand agp motherboard owners if not more.
