Kidding bud, I know you're a gunis. |
I really hope it's not terrible.....That would be embarrasing for Romero, seeing as he pretty much invented the Zombie film....
|
does it resemble Dawn of teh Dead
|
well which dawn of the dead are you talking about the remake or orignal? the zombies are slow. if that helps any and tom savini makes a cameo
|
Spoiler: One of the zobies die.
|
It didn't really like the newer of Dawn of the Dead, so I'm hoping this will be better.

P.S. I LOVE THE CAMEO APPERANCE OF TOM SAVINI!!! HAHA, fucken brilliant. |

New one was awesome.... ed: This will be more like the original, seeing as it's directed by the guy who did the original. |
Just got back from it, and despite an incident during the movie (which I'll post at the bottom) I thought it was pretty good, but not super great.
The movie overall I would give like a 6/10. I felt that a majority of the movie was centerd on that two groups of people with conflicts. I was expecting more Zombie on Human action, which we got , but I still thought the story should of focused more on the zombies and shit. I thought it just a little goofey with the main black zombie at the end and that Riley guy. It wasn't like Predator running with the chick who had an alien head shield retarded, just a little bit goofey. As for the incident! Well do you ever go to the movies and there's that group of people who just will not SHUT THE FUCK UP! Well I was at the theater with a rather large group of people tonite. Good people, maybe about 20 of us. With us was a guy named Matt who's about 6'5 and diseal built as fuck! Well to the left of us was your typical group of thugabee's. One chap was a white folk who was trying his hardest to be black and the other fella was a latin decent and was thugged out too. During the movie these persons were playing games on their cellphone, talking on cellphones, talking to their girl friends there and just blabbering the whole godamn movie. The whole time people were saying 'SHUT THE FUCK UP PLEASE' and they fired back with typical thug response of 'Whatya gonna do bitch!'. Finally big Matt got pissed and walked over to the kids and told them if they don't shut the fuck up he was going to beat the shit out of them and he didn't care if it was in fron of their girlfreinds. The kid shutterd in his seat. About 3/4's into the movie the kid gets out of his seat like he's leaving, this was after making several calls to his "boys" or so we suspect. The kid walks up to Matt and makes it appear as if he's apologizing to him then shakes his hand. AS he does this he takes a very cheap shot at Matt and tries to run down the stairs. His thuggery would be his undoing because as he tried to run he tripped and fell under the looseness of his shoes and pants. Matt gets out of his seat and punches the kid a few times and then takes off again. Then the white kid who was with him tries to take on Matt. Next thing you know the aisle of people I was with clears out and takes chase to these rascals. Another friend of Matt's is at the bottom of the theater wrestling with this white kid who's like tearing his shirt and shit so I go down there and put my knee on his face and break them apart and the kid gets up and runs away as usuall. As much as I'd like to take a shot at him while he was on the floor, I didn't. As for the kids who ran away, they ended up running to the lobby and find a sheriff who saw Matt chasing him and the sherriff just held Matt back while the kid then ran away again. On top of that, we all got free tickets for the next time we come to the movies! A specticle of a night gents. |
I liked the movie... I finally got to see it 2night rock:

Saw Land of the Dead last night
(maybe a spolier) I tought it was really cool how the people actually started to live their lives. The whole begining was kick ass but the rest was missing something, i dont know what. 7/10 |
the kids looked about 18 or so. I mean they got into the R movie and the attendants were in there checking ID's and tickets and shit.

Either that or some tossers with laser pointers. |
For the budget, it was a pretty good movie. Romero wanted it to be so much bigger, but with only 10 million to work with, he did an excellent job. I'm hoping that with the money the movie makes, he'll be able to make his next one with a larger budget and bigger scope.
BTW, I watched the original Dawn of the dead, and noticed Tom Savini has the same outfit in every movie he's in, From Dusk till Dawn included. My girlfriend asked me when he came on screen if that was "Sex Machine".. I laughed. |

I'm only 16 and I got in. No ID check or anything. |

They never tell you in any of Romero's movies (Or in the Snyder remake of dawn)....(Haven't seen Land yet)....I guess it'd lose its appeal more if they try to explain it using half-assed science. I like it how they don't explain. |
What would you guys think it would cause this to happen
|
[quote="mR.cLeAn":f66f0]What would you guys think it would cause this to happen[/quote:f66f0]
I dunno, I like to think it's because there is no more room in hell, and the dead are forced to work the earth....(That's pretty much a direct quote from both Dawn movies - Both times made by the same actor, Ken Foree) I think that's what Romero is getting at....It works well with all the social commentry and themes that are prominant in the dead series...As if humans are by majority, all naturally evil and so hell has filled up.... |
I like the fact that you never know too, because if zombies were actually taking over earth i think everyone would be too worried about saving their ass then finding a reason to why they're here.

[quote:d6f3d]Speculation rests on a radiation-covered NASA satellite returning from Venus, but it only remains a speculation. Anyone who dies during the crisis of causes unrelated to brain trauma will return as a flesh-eating zombie, including anyone who has been bitten by a zombie.[/quote:d6f3d] It turns out he did have an idea for how the zombies were created. Its nice though he didnt mention it in the later films. |
how bout the resident evil way?

Way too many political messages.
Food "hunters" = American Army invading muslim culture Zombies = Muslims, they get angry and attack the tower and the rich Republicans Fenced up city = Homeland Security and yeah... a few others People moving to Canada = Turned-Democrat Rupublicans and Democrats (the poor people) |
Romero's movies have always been a reflection of the times. I'm not surprised if there's some political undercurrents.
As long as there's a lot of intestine ripping, he can comment on the world all he wants. |
