Im assuming all this research and development for the cell cpu cost them big time so the console is priced to get that cash back as quickly as possible, even though a dual core p4 would have done a better job.

I only use my PS2 for football games. I'd rather play an FPS on the comp anyday over consoles.

If you believe all the marketing bullshit thats flying around, theyre probably on par with each other as far as power goes. Ps3 has the cell cpu which is nothing more than a ton of hype (emotion engine anyone?), and its graphics setup is more or less a speeded up nvidia 7800gtx. The ati graphics for the xbox however is a totally new design thats never been done before, has 10mb of ram dedicated to letting every game run with 4x anti aliasing.

Saying that though i doubt i'll buy either. sleeping:

Gerv, by the time PS3 comes out computer graphics will be better anyway, just like PS2. Everybody thought that was going to own, and then when it came out there were already games on the computer that were better, but I'm sure you're already aware of that.

I think we're all aware of that.

But at least with the consoles you won't have to upgrade every year to play every new game on max settings, plus its cheaper, and I actually don't mind controllers one bit.

That's my two cents, anyways.

The games are better than all these "enhanced" graphics on comp games. They put out pretty graphics and don't waste time on the fucking soul of the game.
