Woah now hold on there, I was playing today after I'd recently gotten Lance Corporal and I thought I'd only have 1 weapon unlocked but I was trying them all out in MP, was great!

In the future, if you really are concerned about "exposing security holes" to EA (which I sincerely doubt) rather than grandstanding, please e-mail me personally since it appears that you don't have the correct contact info. I will PM you the address.

All of the changes made will be rolled back in the next couple hours. Users may have to rechoose any unlocks they would have legitimately made in the last day or so as a result of the roll-back, but no stats should be lost.

All unlocked, i actually quite like the AT gun, sniper rifle is nice and i need to test others out more but time will be runnin out i'm sure.....

Hopefully i get to repick my unlock, since im one of the 5 someodd mill unlocked.

mine was unlocked so i whored the dao-12 all night. brutal gun in CQC....

I don't have any regrets with my unlocks (PKM and DAO-12) but for people who picked something like the Jackhammer or G3 that would be nice. They can't just let us reset them on our own, no. Allah forbid something that makes sense happening.

Did you notice that all the weapons in Battlefield 2 that you haven't earned were unlocked? EA have updated their site explaining this problem, as well as announcing a solution.

Many users logged into Battlefield 2 today to discover that they had access to all of the game's weapons unlocked in their profile. We have fixed the root issue that caused this to occur and by tomorrow morning all users will return to having access only to the weapons which they had earned. Once our solution is in place, if you find that you do not have access to weapons appropriate to your in-game rank, please direct inquiries to the Support sites linked below. In some cases users may be prompted to re-select the Unlock weapons that they are eligible for (if you are eligible for two weapons you will get to choose the two you wish to have unlocked).


Update 1:
Is appears the vast majority of users are having problems logging into their BF2 account. We can only assume this is a side-effect of EA applying the fix explained above.
We will update this post as more information comes to light.

Mine are all gone now so I assume they reset them. Haven't had a chance to go back to BFHQ yet.

its a security flaw in the way the accounts are managed/validated/authenticated etc etc etc. they should have had a hat hack internally during QA process to see if there were any issues. i dont blame the hackers for this at all. If you leave a door open and unlocked its your own damn fault if you get robbed. I have no visibility into EA/Dice's QA dept/ bug control etc but it sure seems they have let a ton of stuff slip by....

Plus these guys are White Hat hackers, they didn't do anything malicious to the server or peoples accounts. Trust me they could have done ALOT worse.

Well no shit, they could have easily deleted the accounts themselves. But of course these are very bad people, to say otherwise would imply that dice/ea are lazy, greedy people and we know that can't be the case.

Is the stats tracking working today or is it still fucked?
