You really can't expect Hollywood to make a GREAT movie based on a game. There is just too much money involved. annoy: |
doesnt look that bad.
The Rock is a decent actor. he was pretty funny in Be Cool. |

happy: classic |
Im still gonna see it...
...but it used the overly used cheesey line "If it moves/breathes/blinks...SHOOT IT!". The Imp's looked incredible, though. INKWEIDIBOL. rock: |
I liked to half second shot of the hellknight, but the "no hell" storyline makes him, and all the demons, a bit illogical
|

....Because the story was totally logical in the first place, sure. |

Why not? It's not hard to walk into a different room than the one you bought a ticket for - in terms of most theatres. |

I hope The Rock "Rock bottom"'s someone.
|
not working.. says it has been removed or some shit.
:Whoops, just got it to work. It kind of feels generic..... It doesn ot feel like they captured the mood to well @ all.. Looks better the crap though so maybe it will be half decent. |
DOOM III had a strong atomoshphere for three reasons, you were alone, its use of light, and the use of ambeint sounds. This movie doesn't seem to have any of these qualities. And why did they say somthing about mapping the human genome? Why not just the teleporation and the portal to hell?

No hell, no point.
To much resident evil with the virus bullshit. To much resident evil 2 with the mutated humans. Honestly the teleportation shit was really the way to go with it. I actually liked the idea of a "temporary crossover" via teleportation in doom 3. Also that they attempted to research it, and seeing how it all went wrong by building it and putting the facts together as you went along. Discovering little bits of what they were doing up into the full picture. The mystery and alluding to things really made the games story telling better, and would have probably made the movie a little better. If you can look past the "oh look another guy just popped out of nowhere" of doom3 the story, and how it unfolds is actually isnt that shabby. |
looks lol

ehh looks alright i liked how they threw the fps part in for less that a second. assholes. the imps looks pwnage
|
Looks decent. Not theater-worthy, but certainly home theater-worthy.
|
looks kinda queerdo

One thing I've learned about expectations based on trailers is that they can give off a totally different atmosphere unlike what you get in the actual movie.
The directors of the film should have some say with the trailer, becasue all you get in most of the current ones, is some advertising fruitcakes idea of what draws audiences, generally these kinds of people have made a film look totally gay by showing a montage of 1 millisecond shots of the "action" sequences. Throw in a cheesy catchprase at the end, and you have a totally different movie being advertised. I'll go by what other people are saying about it when it's out. ....You can usually tell if a reviewer is a dickhead and they've got it wrong, I find. |

FPS scenes sound nice and at all... But I think they came out rather gimmicky.
|
Yeah, a little. Hard to tell. From what I've read, test screeners responded favourably to the FPS scenes and were generally pleasantly surprised by them.

AS much as i hate to say this, but the FPS scenes look awesome. It might be intresting to go see. |
I will probably just end up renting it when it comes on dvd.
