I heard it tried to land in a bad storm and strong winds likely caused it...

No people have gotten over that ultra-paranoia about planes phase......

Scalping Chief 08-02-2005 04:02 PM

They tried to land in a thunder/rain storm and they overshot the runway some explosion went off and now its in etobikoe river. 291 people onboard, Many of them taken to hospitals, Pilots are alive. Not sure if there are any deaths yet. I hope not.
The plane should'nt of even landed, The runway was not rated for a low visibility landing plus there was thunder and high windspeeds, and a slippery runway. Hope everyone is fine.

Old Reliable 08-02-2005 04:12 PM

airbus? damn, they're gonna have a helluva time figuring this one out..

planes are programmed to land pretty much on their own nowadays, they are programmed to land in that sort of weather.

i haven't heard one word about it on the news

Crazy Canadian 08-02-2005 04:39 PM

is a airbus one of those huge ass ones that they realised a couply months ago in paris?

Vance 08-02-2005 04:51 PM

I just heard it on the radio as I was driving home. Hope everyone is safe.

newt. 08-02-2005 05:15 PM

radio said no reports of injuries to the passangers.

an eyewitness claims to have seen 2 small explosions.??

also i heard about another plane that slammed into a rock wall.

Sergeant_Scrotum 08-02-2005 05:18 PM

I hear a small bit of it on the radio at work, just that their was a plane crash. I remembered my friend was flying back from paris but wasent sure when he was leaving. Asked a customer later if he heard anything and he said it was air france. I was just like "shut up!". I figuered my friend would not have left yet though. Sure enough got home and got a txt from him saying "hey! just leaving paris now!". They have no idea of the crash. *phew* talk about heart attack for a second.

Jin-Roh 08-02-2005 05:24 PM

RIP Canada ... America will miss it. cry:

It was like a whiteout, They could land easy but when they cant see jack shit its rough, thats why the plane ended up in a river at the end of the runway.

Tripper 08-02-2005 09:06 PM

I can't believe noone was even seriously injured! Amazing... ed:

Good news, I guess....

Arkan 08-02-2005 10:23 PM

Glad no one was hurt but it didn't crash until after it landed. Most fuel was already spent and crash happened at the end of the runway where the plane wasn't going as fast as it would've at the start of the landing. Still a crash none the less.

/me wonders if all passengers got their money back.

Hawke 08-02-2005 10:53 PM

300+ people on the plane and no one seriously hurt ed:
