Madden NFL 2006
 

The game comes out tomorrow (Aug. 9th). Any you guys gonna get it? I'm gonna wait a few weeks so I can still play my money's worth on NCAA 2006 (only played about 20 games).

According to several reviews, it's a let down from previous years. What an "unusual" coincidence the series starts to suck once the competition is removed. At least I hope it doesn't have the Defensive AI of NCAA.

my brother brought it home yesterday with his two friends. The one kid works at blockbuster and has some connections. We played it and had a pretty good time. Personally, I like ESPN football better. But I did notice how the play action fakes actually work well in this Madden game.

did they fix the run blocking (or the blocking in general)?

We played Philly VS Vikings. Philly's line pretty much just swarm the quaterback. The Vikings on the other hand had one guy get through every time. So, I think it kinda differs from team to team rather than a whole game glitch/issue.

now that some people have the game, could someone tell me about it? I'm still eventually gonna buy the game, but I want to know if it's worth abandoning NCAA for it right now, or playing a few more weeks of NCAA.

I always preferred the 2K series.

From what I've read, Madden 2005 is just as good gameplay wise. If you want to export your RFTH guy into Madden though, then you should get it.

It got an 8.2 on Gamespot. Lowest score for a Madden game I've seen on that site.

Yep, but at least it'll be better than Madden 2004, where Michael Vick could roll out to either side every play over and over and average about 35 yards per carry. His speed was ridiculous in that game.

i hate how when you sell games to EB, you only get $5 for it while they jack up their price to $20 when reselling it.
