Anyone else going to go see this when it comes out? I remember hearing about it a couple of years back. Apparently its coming out this year, relatively soon.

EDIT: It's opening this week. Only 800 theatres. Not suprised seeing as the cast is made up of mainly unknowns....Which is often a good thing.

ive noticed the adverts for it lately and it looks ok... the cast doesnt look that leet tho. i doubt i ll 'go see it' but ill probably watch it.

I read the book the great raid is based off of . Hopefully it can compete cause it was a great book called ghost soilders I believe.

As far as jar head it is a good book as well and tripper.
Milla mentioned something about the movie a year or so back...but it must have been erased at some point.

The reporter guy from enemy @ the gates is in this movie as well. Looks good lets just hope it is not another windtalkers.....(Only John Woo would add a dramatic score to a serious battle scene.)

ill be seeing it for sure...read the book and it was hands down the best book i have ever read.

Looks kinda like We Were Soldiers and Pearl Harbour mixed together. Kinda looks dodgey (too much love and yippy drama), one reason why I only like to watch WW2 films by Spielberg. WW2 films have dropped in quality lately.

i saw some show on the History channel called History vs Hollywood? They talked about this movie and the historical aspects behind it. Battaan death march was featured and they followed the path of the rangers/phillipino resistance that participated in the raid. The movie looks like shit though and Fiennes is just a great big homo. From what I saw on the tele there is some gay romance in the movie as well. Ill see it on dvd. The last movie that got me out of the house was Sin City..... rock:

The "Raid" trailer reeked of suck. I'll probably rent it too...just for curiosity.

Such a bad choice of a music score for the trailer ... makes it look like a Disney movie.

I dont know about this, I might be seeing it, I usually see movies crappy or not as I hardly ever rely on reviews but just if its atleast remotely interesting. This looks awfully cheesey and really glorifying the whole thing - not that I like movies that totally make everything seem horrible, but I find movies that make blowing up cars and shooting guns look just so cool around even worse (Mainly Vin Diesel movies...XXX)

I wish there were a movie that had the action and excitement of Black Hawk Down, mixed with the horrors of All Quiet On the Western Front - so it'll please action aficianado's and anti-war guys equally... so far, not really any movie has done that, though Band of Brothers has gotten close.
