They claim to help you with spyware and viruses, but they install the fucking shit themselves onto your computer and act like they helped you by telling you to download their security edition that comes with virus/spyware protection. There are two programs on my computer (wildtangent and viewpoint) that are known as spyware (according to Spybot and google) that AIM downloads to your computer without you knowing. They are said to be used for just music/games, but they are also known for recording what you do on your computer even if your not using AIM. When you try to uninstall the programs because you don't play music/games, AIM will reinstall it to your computer again. Combine that with the bullshitty commercials I have to see on TV (in addition to their terrible customer service on regular AOL), and you could see why I'm angry. |

search wildtangent and viewpoint on google, then you'll see they're spyware. There even a forum/website that says everything I just pretty much stated. And their customer service is from my own expierence.

Blitz, go [url=http://www.mess.be/:6297a]here[/url:6297a] and scroll down until you see "Mess Patch for MSN Messenger 7.5 FINAL". That should get rid of all the pap, if you're using 7.5 of course, but there are older versions there in the downloads section..

If you add /nomutex to the shortcut for GT you can run multiple instances of the client. Also: _italics_ and *bold* for formatting.

I've got google talk working with GAIM. Apparently it uses the Jabber network.
GAIM HAX! |

You too stupid to get GAIM to work or what? I don't have any problems with it.
At least it's not a resource pig like Trillian. I'd rather run one GAIM app than have my system tray loaded with IM app icons, like a 13 year old girl's laptop. "OMG! The buttons in MSN look like CANDIES!" eek: |
Trillian > All
I'm only on my chat programs when I actually want to talk to people, I don't leave it running in the background so any kind of resource issues aren't problems. Plus, Trillian isn't gay. |
