My hike in Vantage (56k no, cable; perhaps not)
This is the podunk town of Vantage, yes, thats it.
I took those as i left an old "service road" as the map called it, and headed towards the cliff side. Water is about 500+ ft down, there is a second "shelf" cliff below what you can see here. The bridge is I 90 Hilltop viewpoint, Vantage to the left. Nice day. Tanken 5. Close up on that mudslide thing. Im hiking in the "petrified forest". Once a thick forest in ages past these remnants of wood are in fact now rocks. Literally. A draw known as "hole in the wall". After a while i turn back and head back along the cliff side. As i get near my off road point i start looking for indicators for the road. The only one in exsistance is this solar weather station that is right next to the road. So im headed the right way. Road AHOY A seemingly abandon horse pen or something. A rock formation near my car. And the icing on the cake... Me, and my car.
can you jump off those cliffs?[/quote:76d22]
You could, but you'd be landing in the Columbia river, with a decent current. This is about 2 hours away from Redmond/Bellevue Its to the right of Ellensburg, where I 90 turns north after crossing the Columbia. To small to even be put on the map. |
