Rebuild New Orleans
Should they rebuild or abandon New Orleans?
|
don't care
wasn't the smartest move building there in the first place |

It's just that it sank over time due to the silt deposits and stuff. Can't really blame anyone for it....>BUT LET'S BLAME THE FRENCH!!!! biggrin: |
sounds good to me
|
You cant just abandon a whole city. I mean its not like the old days where you could just found a wooden shanty town and have it evolve. Were kinda at a point where what we have for cities is pretty much it. A city of its size is something you cant just say "hey, you millions of people can never come back".
|
Rebuild it with safeguards against this type of catastrophe. Stronger levees are a good start.

They'll find oil under it and turn it into a huge oilfield.
|
they should prolly abandon parts of it, its gonna cost billions to clean that up.
|
Bulldoze everything, clear the land, and start from scratch. Build better levees as well oOo:
|
Hey lets build a huge city under sea level next to an ocean that has tons of hurricanes!
|
Build a 200ft high plexiglass wall around the entire city.

They should open it up for tourism, and use that couple years worth of money to build some levees.

Nope, I was being totally serious. Im also thinking about turnin the Superdome into a giant carousel, and perhaps turning the French quarter into a literal France, with black and whie striped guys on boats and all. |
Hell ... we could turn the ghetto suburbs into cotton fields while we are at it and try to reinact America before the civil war... rolleyes:

how about all the new orleans residence movie into Toronto, and then live there for 20 years, and then when the Canadians force them out, we'll cry about it saying that it's our land even though in reality we just stole it from those who actually bought the land in the first place....
|
Have you guys ever though that it is nearly impossible to stop nature?
"BUILD LARGER WALLS" "BUILD UP THE LAND" "BUILD BIGGER LEVEES" Erosion. Lots of time and dirt to build up the land... Just no. |
Ocean city. Maryland will be under water in less than 20 years...= erosion
|
Put New Orleans on the moon!

lol I forgot I made this thread....
I think the only way they should be allowed to rebuild is if they make it above sea level |
They should rebuild New Orleans near Chicago so I can actually go to Mardi Gras in a car.
