Quake IV is released today, F.E.A.R comes tomorrow. Discuss and don't hate.

Already got fear, yet to play it much though. Its been released early in canuckville and some places in the uk have it on sale already.

FEAR came out 3 days ago in a lot of places.

Over here Quake IV got released just now and FEAR is out officially tomorrow.

2 mp vids of a guy running about a couple of maps, no real action just runthroughs, showing off rockejumps and some of the weapons.

And before anyone asks "durr whats a rocket jump?" its firing the rocket at your feet and simaltaniously jumping so the explosion propels you high into the air.

I always would blow myself up when I tried to rocket jump in TFC.

Full... I'm not sure how that's even possible since a single rocket did less than 100dmg, but never the less every time I tried to rocket jump I'd gib all over the place.

You'd be suprised at the amount of posts ive seen on forums asking how to do it, seems self explanitory but theres always some oOo: that hasn't a clue.

So, whats the feeling on F.E.A.R. ?? This is one i've been waiting for but need some opinions before i get it. I think i'm gonna pass on Quake IV though.

Only played for a few minutes, seems good but the peformance is as bad as the demo, despite reviews saying its better. Judas would have more of a clue but at the minute hes pased out on tranqualizers because of playing fear.

It's gotten top notch reviews all across the net. Everyone that I've talked to has said that it's really good. Aparently it really fucks with your mind.

Quake 4 looks exactly like Doom 3, which is why I'm waiting for some reviews on this.

Dunno why people are saying that, it uses the same engine so normal mapping and shadows play a big part of it. Unlike doom 3 you're not gonna be in totally dark areas much, you have a flashlight on your weapons as well. Im buying it mainly for the sp though, sems a lot more fast paced than doom with more attacking you at any one time.

Is quake 4 multiplayer any good?

Meh, when I saw the pistol and the same flickering lighting effects I saw Doom 3 everywhere. Plus the Marines look alot like the Marines in Doom 3. I just don't want to fork over 50 bucks for Doom 3 again.

its basicaly quake 3 modes with new graphics and mroe weapons, plus other changes to the gameplay. If you want a good mp then quakewars early next year looks fuckig amazing. Nothing really new in quake 4 for multi just an enhanced quake 3 mp mode really.

Well like i said before, it has squad combat, strogg combat and vehicle combat. Those alone seems to make enough of a difference to distinguish it from doom 3. Piloting one of those big mechs and running over some enemies should be fun biggrin:

i feel the same way about the doom3 thing ... if mp is limited to 3 people per side its really pointless. the whole fun of quake is having 01820938120 people shooting rockets all over.

16 player dm\ctf in quake 4. Probably be modded to 32 or so id say

I'd like to play MP, Q3 was class at times, especially if you had a shitty day and wanted to blow stuff up cool:

The 'QUAD DAMAGE' sound effect is still one of the best sounds and feelings i've had in a game, heh, just makes you feel like a super duper cyber god. cool:

What kinda rejects work in the stores over there? Its on our store shelves over here already but they can't sell it till friday. loney: American\canadian release is today.
