Just bought a playstation2!
 

Yay! I’m happy! I’m about 4 years behind but I finally bought one! Paid $100 for it and it came with 4 games and two controllers. Anyways first things first, who else has one and have you modded it? If so any references to some reputable sites would be appreciated. Anyways im pretty happy il be able to finally play Grand turismo! biggrin:

i bought one for like 20 bucks off ebay.....but yea its cool cuz i get to play all the games i didnt get a chance too. Hope u have fun. rock:

yeah i had one of those slims ones, pawned it off my buddy for $50, had like eight games two controllers and a mem card, good deal...too bad one of my other buddys broke it but its all good

should of got a gamecube instead, mario kart dd and donkey konga pwn anything elsewhere.

i got GT3, gta3, lord of the rings, and van helsing with it. as well as two memory cards and anonther controller. Just played GT3 for about 2 hours lol.

got mine modded back when i bought it 2 years ago. i love my system, but im playing all my oldie systems at the moment. dreamcast games > most ps2 games.

van helsing.. thats the worst game ive ever played. which lord of the rings theres like 48 out.

i got mine for 60$ out of a bush. don't ask why the bush needed the money either. pick up killzone and shadow of the colossus. both games are very underrated in my considered opinion and are on my list of top ten favorite games.

Get flatout, the game is so funny. Very similar to the old destruction derby games.

i got mine modded after i bought it. i had to buy two PS2s originally. I my friend referred me to this guy who made a sweet mod for the PS2. I bought my first and took it to him to mod. he opened it up and told me that i had to get a newer model because the one i had gotten had a metal plate where he was supposed to mod the chipset. he put it back together and then i bought another one at Target. he told me to get the SPCH-39001 series because they didnt have the plate. i bought that and took it back to him and it took him like 4 hours to do it. i took the first one i bought and returned it with the receipt to target, where they didnt notice the black sticker strip had been tampered with biggrin: .

I think that some of the DC games are much better than PS2 games. The DC had something like twice the video memory of the PS2 didnt it?

damn. sounds like a pain in the ass what you went through to get your ps2 modded. i'm thinking of getting a fliptop/swap magic combo for mine cuz i can't find any local places that do it. twice the video power? i don't know about that. cut scenes on the ps2 usually look better than that of the DC. one example of that was resident evil code veronica.

I just bought a fliptop/swap magic combo a couple of weeks ago and is definetly worth the money. I paid $40 dollars for everything inculding shipping. Make sure you buy a good dvd-r brand such as maxell or sony for you backups.
