They are pretty fun, its a great brain teaser. A guy at work gets one a day via email and forwards it to a bunch of us. Something fun to pass the time.

They can get frustrating as hell sometimes.

Anybody else do them?

a friend got me into them, i find them in the newspaper from time to time and do them. Pretty neat. Thinking of buying one of them Soduku books.

my mom got me a sudoku book for christmas because I do a lot of crosswords and she figured I'd like them too.

I just realized after doing a second one that every 3x3 can only have one of each number. My mistake for not reading the rules properly! *DOH*

It makes it so much easier, but then, the harder ones are a bitch too.

heh...I gave up when I 1st started, but then a collegue showed me a trick and it makes it alot easier to start

Do one every day, minimum. Theyre in all the dailys over here, so theres plenty to choose from.

There's an algorithm you can use to help solve them, but as for a specific pattern ? Just remember that 1-9 can only appear once per line and 3x3 square: that should be enough to let you solve it logically/without guessing.
