Do you have Macromedia Flash? Not just the player. If not, download the evaluation version.

i think you could probably do that with Swish, it's freeware too.

Himmler 02-15-2006 05:25 PM

yes i have flash, i just dont know how to script with it or anything

c312 02-15-2006 05:28 PM

look for tutorials, there should be a lot. I have a Flash MX book that is huge but I haven't read any of it.

tomxtr 02-15-2006 05:30 PM

Look here. I've found good stuff there in the past.

Himmler 02-15-2006 05:40 PM

it didnt have anything. the thing is, i dont know what to search for to find help on this

HeadUp 02-15-2006 05:51 PM

yeah i wish i knew some flash

Bleuachdu 02-15-2006 05:56 PM

There is some specific actionscript for controlling media. If you aren't that good at flash, or aren't a programmer, it might not be the simplest thing in the world.

If you really want to make a flash video player like that site, you have a lot of work to do.

--EDIT--

FFS - plz use google; this is the first result of the first search I did:

i guess i should have made myself more clear. i need something that i dont just edit a text file and get it, i need a REAL one. this is for my job, so if anyone here can do it, we can work something out and i can even pay you.

Whats wrong with the link I sent?

How much $ are you willing to dish out?

Himmler 02-15-2006 06:28 PM

its for a business, i dont want something i just grabbed off the net, its not professional. im not really sure how much im willing to dish out because i dont know how much work there is involved in making something like this. how many hours work would it take?

Bleuachdu 02-15-2006 06:29 PM

Type out your specific requirements and let me know precisely what you need and how it has to function, and I'll give you an estimate.

Himmler 02-15-2006 06:32 PM

pretty much exactly what was in the link in my first post. i am not really sure if it is as easy as this but.. i just want something that i can open up in flash, import a video in and then publish it as a .swf

Bleuachdu 02-15-2006 06:45 PM

What kind of video format? What codec&compression? The example you gave used streaming video, do you have server side capability for this? If so, what kind of technology? Does it need to stream, can it just preload? What kind of application is this for? What are size requirements, both in resolution and file size?

I need to know or have an idea about all of this stuff, before I can give you any sort of an estimate.

In the meantime, here is a good tutorial I found (through google) for a beginner:

I call them starving for a reason. Animators are useless in the industry, or payed poorly. Coders/Designers are the ones who make decent salaries.
