judas you are the biggest faggot, QUIT POSTING THIS OBVIOUS, MIND NUMBING BULLSHIT, NO ONE FUCKING CARES.

Judas 02-24-2006 06:18 PM

:another recent awesome discovery is that you can grab inactive windows (windows behind others ) and reposition them without the top or active window losing focus.

so if you want to say move shit from one window to another and the other one just happens to be behind the one you are currently working in you can move the other into position to drop without having to bring it forward.

Forte 02-24-2006 06:22 PM

just got 2 new iMacs and a 15 inch powerbook.
700 each.

say you have 5 windows open at once all on the desktop and you want to quickly open a finder ( my comp ), you sling all that shit into a window , leaving you with a clean desk ( kind of like state saving ), open the finder , browser , or wtf ever do whatever, the clik that box and youre back where you were before ... its pretty awesome actually.

c312 02-24-2006 07:56 PM

how is that different than the "show desktop" button? it sounds almost exactly the same.

Nyck 02-24-2006 07:57 PM

Its fucking amazing, I hit that button and everything minimize right to a nice clean desktop. I can then open whatever I want and then click the button again and HOLY FUCKING SHIT EVERYTHING REAPPEARS BACK TO HIS PREVIOUS SIZE

!!!!111!11ONEONEONE

geRV 02-24-2006 08:04 PM

So it does the same as hitting the windows key and d? meh.

it doesnt work the same at all ... use it then open a window ... then when you click again it just minimizes all the windows again and you only get the active window back ...

the mac box thing leaves the desktop as it was before you ran it and no matter what you do you get the desktop back exactly as before. you can leave that shit there for hours ( the box ) , come back and restore it to whatevers caught in that box.

showdesktop only works for the windows you used it on( the active ) .. if you do something else (open a browser / my comp ) that window becomes the active and you can only control it being or not being on the desktop. to get the windows back you have to click on the task.

no gerv / window d does what i described above.

: i wish i had some way of capture it to demo , its pretty damn neat. it will actually let you catch in multiple sessions of opening windows ... so each time i activate it it adds windows to the box ...

Judas 02-24-2006 08:12 PM

this will probably do the same thing :

Virtual Desktop Manager
Manage up to four desktops from the Windows taskbar with this PowerToy.

Machette 02-24-2006 08:29 PM

I remember my days of using a mac back at boarding school...good times..gerv always gave me tips how to use it and shit..to bad he uses windows now. happy:

Judas 02-24-2006 09:13 PM

i wont deny that theres a lot of gay about a mac ... alot, but i enjoy using it. i seriously dont understand how not allowing compatibility helps them at all and they seem to love raping their customers with upgrades more than microsoft. they are way over priced in comparasion but seem to perform about as well as pcs. i dunno what the switch to the intel chips will do for them and running software on both platforms. i know id be a shit load happier if i could run xp shit on mine.

ill probably buy a mac desktop in the near future.

So... It cost more, does the same shit, except doesnt run most games until there a year older and adapted. Its more expensive to upgrade and you wish it did stuff that XP does...

Well shit. Sign me up.

yah, theyve found their niche in the creative market and are milking it for all its worth. if you want to design for print, im pretty sure youre going to have to do it on a mac right now.

no way in hell i would just own a mac since i game. but , if you didnt game at all then it might be for you.

Short Hand 02-24-2006 10:52 PM

Mac's are fading out of the industry ffs. LOTR set the new standard when it was completely edited on a PC/ (Mini Compute though, not a micro). AND it was done with Vegas !! ed:

A MAC does not accept PC software (in most cases) simply for the reason that a MAC OS Format puts the FAT section of the fixed disk (Hard Drive) on the inside by the hub. Microsoft places it around the outside. Swtiching to Intel will not open many new doors at all. Also This swtich was only done becasue IBM could not spit out a 3ghz chip.

AND why would Apple go with Intel over AMD ??

Simple "Brand Name Power" Intel has a majority of the market, and people think they are getting what they paid for when they buy a Intel chip. AMD has not established a brand name for itself yet. (At least to the GENERAL Public.).

AND my advice to you Judas.....

I use MAC's on a near daily basis. AND all I can tell you is unless you are extremely into video editing....... WHICh you do not seem to be.. AVOID them. When it comes to functionality and general speed, the Microsoft Solution at the present time is much better.

eeves 02-24-2006 11:05 PM
