NBA FINALS

Yea, yanno - the playoffs in the sport that actually matters. . . rolleyes:

Anywho - for the 8th straight season, Sacramento is in the Playoffs, with the eight seed this time around in a series against the SPURS - and god damn after Tuesdays game did we need a win. . .and we got it - in high fashion.

Mike Bibby steal of Manu with 7 seconds left (fuck you asshole trying to run out the clock), pass to K-Mart who hits a nice layup over two SPURS - boom end of game SPURS.

To really stay in this - they have to beat San Antoino on Sunday - because the SPURS can end it on Tuesday if they dont.

PS - Please God let NASH get his finger out his ass and beat KOBE. Thnx.

I'm surprised with Chicago's victory over Miami...

but Chicago is going to get rolled anyways. My vote goes to either the Spurs or Mavericks.

gtboys34 04-28-2006 11:54 PM

The last few secs of the sac vs sa game were amazing. This is the only time of the year when i tune in to b'ball... PLAYOFFS!

Cool Fool 04-29-2006 12:40 AM

lol phoenix and lakers are gettin a little physical...first game 1 nash like slaps lakers guard and now game 2 luke walton a hard foul on tim thomas and boris diaw gettin throw to the ground by kwame...shit..this is a fun series to watch...no altercations between kobe and raja bell yet amazingly...those two hate eachother

Hawke 04-29-2006 12:48 AM

Lakers will beat the Suns.

Kings suck.

Chicago can beat Miami if they start playing better sooner instead of the last few minutes.

Nyck 04-29-2006 07:49 AM

its all worthless anyway because the pistons will destroy anyone

they own the heat, cavs, nets, sac, lal, sa, dallas, phx

Basketball > Hockey

TGB:

Lakers up 2-1.

Kings barely won yesterday. They were torn apart game one. 1-2.

Bulls have done the same thing every game so far. Start out alright, trail by 10ish and then explode the last few minutes. If they can keep it closer, they can win.

ohyou mean last year when they went to game 7 against the spurs, after they went 7 games against wade shaq and the heat, they lose game game 5 of that series on a robert horry buzzer beater 3.

they go into the 4th quarter leading on theroad in SA, when no one gave them a chance to get there where duncan took over (which would have never happened at the palace)

all they do the this year is kick everyones ass and finished as the best team in the league with home court through out the playoffs.

no team in the league can beat the pistons 4 games out of 7.

lets not forget they destroyed the super lakers team the year before that

enjoy your 1st round exit this year you wont get past the spurs

TGB! 04-29-2006 07:52 PM

Youre smokin if you really believe this. . .

Who didnt that year?

[quote:2c7ba]enjoy your 1st round exit this year you wont get past the spurs[/quote:2c7ba]

Possibly - but then a #8 seeded team just might upset the #1 seeded team. . .hmmm - where else are we seeing that happen right now. . .someone kick-start me memory here -

heh you're grasping straws homeboy.

and gimme a fuckin break the pistons clinched the best record in the league like a week before the end of the season and rested their startes who only playedlike 20min a game the last week. Thats what made it even close

I swear kevin martin hits a prayer layup(on your home court) and you act like they are world beaters. rolleyes: keep dreaming because the kings lost they chance to win 3-4 years ago during the webber years.

and no im not smoking

det v sac 2-0
v SA 2-0
v dal 1-1
v phx 2-0
v miami 3-1

milwaukee was hyped up tonight, couldnt miss a shot who the fuck shoots 60% from the field and 64% from 3 point land, pistons mailed this one in

Bwahaha - oh THAT was it - seems to me if the PISTONS didnt want to lose their last two games of the season - they should have played their starters for more than 20 minutes a game (which is hardly giving them a rest). Sorry - but the Pistons didnt blow anything out of the league - they are one game ahead of SA and two ahead of the MAV. That hardly makes them the BEST team in the league - and you wont find too many ppl who think they can beat SA - other than anyone from MICHIGAN.

[quote:287bb]I swear kevin martin hits a prayer layup(on your home court) and you act like they are world beaters.[/quote:287bb]

Hey - at least we dont riot in the streets. . .even IF we win an NBA Championship.

As for the SPURS - they may well bounce us out of the Playoffs - but they havent exactly rolled over us - and have had their fair share of last minute hail-mary plays this year.

Nyck 04-30-2006 05:46 AM

no one rioted when we won 2 years ago.

and why the fuck would we continue to play our starters after we clinched the best record oOo:

thats about the stupidest fucking thing ive heard, its not like you get to start with a 10 point lead if you win best record by more than a game.

and yes playing them only 20 minutes(if at all, yes they all got days off) is certainly resting your starters when they all average 38-42 minutes a game.

for being a black dude you dont know shit about basketball

TGB! 04-30-2006 09:15 AM

[quote:b4bca]and why the fuck would we continue to play our starters after we clinched the best record[/quote:b4bca]

What the hell - how could you have clinched the best record, if you didnt start "resting" your players until a week before the season ended. Simple math will finish the rest of that for ya.

[quote:b4bca]thats about the stupidest fucking thing ive heard[/quote:b4bca]

Funny - you saying "I do" would rank up there for me. . .

I await the "What the fuck - die in a BBQ pit with Rosie O'Donnel" remarks.

Face fucking facts - youll not be winning a championship this year. Detroit fans are some of the most arrogant lil tossers I've seen - worse than LAKER fans of years past. Youd think bearly being blown out by NJ in 2004 wouldve cured them of that - but it hasnt happened. Maybe going down 3-2 again and having to pull back will put a lil humble back into ya.

I personally hope the humbling comes in another finals beatdown.

But hey - as it stands - right now you got two chances at championships. . .lets see which one you blow.

HeadUp 04-30-2006 09:41 AM

jesus ill go ahead an interrupt a heated debate

i have been watching the playoffs and theyre pretty sweet, im not feelin any team ftw yet tho, its a good series so far

also has anyone bet on the playoffs at bodog.com or anything?

I remember at 35 point ass kicking just a few games ago.....

If you actually think that SA can beat Detroit, then theres no way in fuck can the Kings beat SA.

ps pistons > sa > bucks > kings

Nyck 04-30-2006 01:40 PM

rolleyes:

thats why they play the games i guess, I havent seen a single team this year that could beat the pistons 4 games out of 7.

you bring up the spurs, they got smoked by DEt by 15+ pts both meetings this year.

detroit fans are passionate and support their teams therough thick and thin (hell look at the lions) where as Sacramento was the nba dumping ground till webber came there.

TGB! 04-30-2006 03:19 PM

[quote:9d7b6]I remember at 35 point ass kicking just a few games ago..... [/quote:9d7b6]

By that logic then the BUCKS must be a far better team than DETROIT. Right.

[quote:9d7b6]If you actually think that SA can beat Detroit, then theres no way in fuck can the Kings beat SA.[/quote:9d7b6]

Just like theres no way Phoenix is losing to LA - no way CHICAGO will make Miami sweat - please. Detroit wins ONE championship in two trips to the finals. . .and all of a sudden they are the leagues best?

[quote:9d7b6]thats why they play the games i guess, I havent seen a single team this year that could beat the pistons 4 games out of 7.[/quote:9d7b6]

Thank goodness you dont play the West for four games. . .must be nice when youve got teams without winning seasons in the playoffs.

I will give it to Michigan fans - you guys have a great team. . .for now. But so called "dynasties" only last a few years in this league. . .and soon youll be back to where you started before Brown and The Brotha's Wallace came down to funky town.

You said that the Spurs haven't rolled over the Kings yet. They beat them by 35 the 1st game and the Kings only win came from a lucky layup on the Kings side. What the fuck does that have to do with the Bucks and Pistons?

Phoenix plays bad D and has a weak low. I'm not saying LA's is the best, but with a 6'7 guy as your main low-post guy....As for Detroit, I'm pretty sure back-to-back Championship appearances while winning one and the league's best record makes them the leagues best.

So one loop-sided game in a complete series somehows tells the entire story. If you want to talk about lucky plays - what if anything was Barry's three-pointer from the side, or Van Exels 2 that sealed the games this season. . .take a look at the scores from previous meets between the two teams - one blowout in six games - whoopdee doo. . .dont kid yourself - the Kings have played SA well for a power team expected to make it a two-fer in the championships this season.

Its not only a matter of maintaining a team with a dynamic - but its also having that team be able to adjust to the team changes that happen in the league. Look at the LAKERS - they had the same lineup for their first three championships, but they got complacent and SA rolled them in the Semi's. Changed it up, and they got rolled in the finals. Detroit kept the same team, and got beat in the finals. Having a "winning team" just isnt good enough - because the more you play teams, the smarter the players and the coaches get, and the greater your chances are that another team is going to put together that winning combo that takes you out. The ONLY team this didnt happen to is to the BULLS - and I maintain that they had fucking robots playing on that team.

And - I guess one blowout deserves another. . .
