90 cents to the US dollar. wow.

Bucknub 05-02-2006 09:14 PM

yup

big changes are happening to the Canadian economy. our GST is being cut by 1% when Canada DAy roles around

Bleuachdu 05-02-2006 09:21 PM

Back when I was 19-20, I used to go to Canada every weekend. We'd get like 60-65 cents on the dollar... Pretty crazy that the US dollar has totally shit the bed and the Canadian dollar is doing so well.

Nyck 05-02-2006 09:21 PM

its been going up, the us dollar is weak right now

Only benefits the rich anyway.

c312 05-03-2006 10:05 AM

it only benefits the rich like GWB's tax cuts only benefits the rich or differently?

Machette 05-03-2006 10:13 AM

Let's try not to bring Bush into this..But the GST only effects people who buy alot of useless shit - like DVD's, new T.V's etc etc. But when a rich person buys a new million dollar house he'll notice how the tax cut effects him. Plus in the budget that was released yesterday income taxes are going up anyways..GST tax only matters to people who buy alot of consumer goods. Low income people obviously don't benefit from this. I bet buck's dumbass actually voted conservative cause he cared more about GST tax cuts rather than the future of our country. This is why I wish most people in my age bracket would know atleast the basics of politics. This tax cut is good policy not good politics as a globe and mail editorial stated.

c312 05-03-2006 10:39 AM

I'm not trying to bring bush into this, it's just a lot of people said his tax cuts only benefited the rich, and that wasn't true, so I was just trying to clarify.

Machette 05-03-2006 10:53 AM

I'm no expert on American economic transitions. Only thing I'm sure of is that you are carrying a heavy burden..that burden being the debt. Something like 9 trillion, I think. Started in the 50's and hasn't stopped growing.

c312 05-03-2006 01:51 PM

we are also experiencing fantastic growth rates!

I know. Now pay off that decently large debt.

c312 05-03-2006 04:05 PM

well it's easier to do that with a stronger economy isn't it?

Machette 05-03-2006 04:07 PM

happy:

c312 05-03-2006 04:16 PM

Well it is. But anyway, I'm really just trying to get a rise out of you, I agree we need to work reducing our debt, but I just don't think it needs to be the focal point of our fiscal policy.

Madmartagen 05-04-2006 02:25 PM
