Armed Assault

This game looks awesome

http://www.gamespot.com/pc/action/armed ... %20Assault

Creators of Operation Flashpoint

And best of all, it has Co-op happy:

ACtually now looking at these pics, they dont look like the ones i saw in PCgamer mag. The pics in the mag were actually a lot better graphics wise

yeah i was gonna say that. Based on it's graphics, the game looks like america's army. Not good considering it hasn't been released yet

Cool Fool 06-26-2006 09:08 PM

graphics are aight. if gameplay is great then i don't bother with the graphics...

Its liek operation flashpoint.....that game had awesome gameplay.

Also the graphics are good from what i saw.

Miscguy 06-26-2006 11:11 PM

From the looks of it, it seems to be a "soldner" type game. Huge battlefields and such, hopefully it doenst have the shittyness of soldner.

dr nein 06-26-2006 11:18 PM

Looks like the same engine as OFP. Great game, that was.

Cpt. Obvious 06-26-2006 11:25 PM

Wasn't there supposed to be an OFP 2?

dr nein 06-26-2006 11:32 PM

Yes, it's still being worked on.

Milla 06-26-2006 11:37 PM

I thought maybe this is it? (renamed maybe)

[quote:82afa]We work on ArmA at the same time as we work on "Game2" :)

ArmA is not a sequel to Opf as such, it's simply our "next game" :)
[/quote:82afa]

Like I fucking said.

[quote:62a20]Unfortunately, Bohemia had a falling out with publisher Codemasters, but now we get to talk about Armed Assault, a game that for all essential purposes is the sequel to Operation Flashpoint, though we should point out that it's an entirely new franchise and a new setting.[/quote:62a20]

[quote:e1808] * Vehicles kick up dust as they move, and it looks very realistic.

* The visibility of surrounding terrain were quite realistic looking, and adjustable in the in-game settings. Although the GUI slider for visibility range can go out to 10000 meters, the sweet spot for fps and gameplay seemed to be around 1600 meters (approximately 1 mile) and quite acceptable for most tactical needs. The game engine now supports day/night cycles, making the transition more natural.

* A VOIP comms system is now embedded in the game engine, making multiplayer on-line play more coordinated.

* The game uses "aim down the sights" weapon aiming graphics to add a touch of realism when using a rifle in combat.

* The mission map and graphics look a lot like OFP, only refined. I liked the maps, which can be zoomed in on to show the location of every tree, building and vehicle in play. At certain zoom levels the maps looked very similar to 1:50,000 scale maps used by infantry and helo crews in combat.

* In the campaign, each main mission is accompanied by several support missions that the player can choose to enter as an alternative to the main campaign mission, both during the pre-mission planning and while in-game. Examples provided in the demonstration included flying an AH-1Z interdiction mission, or conducting a special operations direct attack on an enemy headquarters. While the demo mission offered 2 support mission options (sniper and helo assault) Dr. Hoffmann told us that each mission offers between 1 and 5 separate support mission options to choose from.

* During campaign missions, changing battlefield situation may cause mission objectives to change in mid-mission. The player is alerted via a text message if this happens, very similar to actual combat ops.

* Multi-player features Co-op mission options and can support up to 200 players, with multiple, independent mission taskings.

* Like OFP, every vehicle is usable in the game. And like OFP, the method of control (particularly of ground vehicles) is just challenging enough to convey the unique needs of operating that vehicle. In addition, tanks have multiple stations that can be co-operatively by multiple players in on-line games. Cool.

* NaturalPoint TrackIR support is provided, which should be great for vehicle operations.

* Damage modeling: Although there will be a medic option, damage for soldiers is simple; one hit may only injure the player, but a second hit always incapacitates him. The player has the chance to jump to one of his secondary mission options and assume that role, but if the secondary options are killed while in AI mode, they are no longer available to the player. During the demo, Dr. Hoffmann's main mission character was killed, and he jumped to his secondary mission player just as the enemy engaged and killed him. Frustrating, but a good demonstration of how challenging Armed Assault can be.

Like i said it looks awesome

Also includes new Army camo

gtboys34 06-27-2006 08:36 PM

looks shitty imo but im sure the magazine pics looked alot better. FFS, the reason his finger is off the trigger is b/c it's been "magically" pasted to the trigger bar

graphix look like shit oOo:

Milla 06-27-2006 08:56 PM

Dude its operation flashpoint (sort of, but newer) i think ppl will make an accpetion if the graphics dont look like Rainbow 6 Vegas. Gameplay is where it counts, and literally having miles of land to play on it fun.

Milla 06-27-2006 08:58 PM

Nein, usually you spawn at a base, and you take vehicles, unless of course you roll your vehicle and are vehicless with miles in each direction lol. gg Op flashpoint, some good memories from that game.

geRV 06-27-2006 08:58 PM

Gfx look ok in some screenshots and utterly shit in others:

rtcw or mohaa had more detail in their weapon models...4 years ago. oOo:

Milla 06-27-2006 09:02 PM

Might be an earlier build gerv.

geRV 06-27-2006 09:05 PM

Usually in games models are one of the first things to be made and finalised, already seen some people complaining abou some of the human models in PREY according to 3d realms the models were finalised in 2003.

Milla 06-27-2006 09:06 PM

lol gg. I think models should be the last thing they finalize to take advantage of the technology.

Cool Fool 06-27-2006 10:51 PM

shit if this games like delta force with vechicles it'll be fun...but the downside would be like nick said walking back from ur spawn to the battle...some of the GFX is gay though like square hills but i would still buy it

gtboys34 06-27-2006 11:41 PM

milla were you paid to advertise this game to us?

Chronic Diarrhea 06-28-2006 12:32 AM

Delta Force 2 was the first "modern" FPS game I owned. I loved playing online with the horde of hackers (Novalogic didn't give a shit back then). People would literally be flying around the map, and I would scope out some obscure location 2 miles away and start picking people off. One time it took the hackers 10 minutes to fly around before they found my 5 pixel body lying in the ditch.
my 5 pixel body lying in the ditch.[/quote:7c24e]

ROFL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I remember Delta Force 1 2 and 3.

I use to love those games, until they started getting really shitty at the time of delta force 3 and Land Warrior.

I remember playing online to, i didnt know wtf a hacker was at the time so ppl were just magically flying lol.

Anyone remember the game called "Spec Ops: Rangers Lead The Way"

Lawl talk about a hard game that was shitty (i use to like it, but as i got older i couldnt believe how shitty it was)

fuck yea same for me...I remember playing and then som fgt h4x would come in and they would either be skipping around teh screen in super fast mode, looked like that chick from xmen 3 or they would be like skipping up and down from the sky raining fully automatic grenade launchers.
