Failed Prodigy
 

Today I just learned that I was once a math prodigyof sorts. I was multiplying in the double digits before kindergarten. When my teachers asked me how I did that, I explained that 'I just see it'.Through laziness and the fact that math is boring, I never practiced and so my latent genius never developed. Also, I started going 'math crazy',making mental numerical connections that make no sense. I cant make up a good example, but if one happens in the near future, Ill post it. Now I just graduated from highschool, barely passing math at the lowest IB level. I find that very distressing.

Psychologically speaking, your cognitive potential shouldn't have diminished, so it may simply be a question of going through the motions again. Of course, you might have simply been more mature intellectually earlier than your peers and have since let them catch up with you. That, or you're full of shit. ;-)

youre just out of high school ... you ve got plenty of time to develop it. i think math is pretty awesome but i suck at it.

actually, I thought of one. Today my dad made a joke about when some historic event occured in his childhood. He joked that he was about 5 and my mom was about 12, altho shes actually only 2 years older than he is. Somewhere in my mind, this statement made sense because 7 is two greater than 5, and 5+7=12.
