Anyone in to vectors?
 

I recently REALLY got in to them, tell me what you think of my work...the 2nd one was my first work...the 3rd one was my second work, and the 1st one was my third work...

ya, I've done a large one of my friend from work, really tedious work, takes alot of time, but rewarding in the end :)

I went a little crazy with her eyelashes I think thats why that one is all crazed out. haha.

I see. Pretty well done. :) Have you ever used Illustrator? I was taught in class that that's the program to use for vector artwork because you always get clean, sharp lines. beer:

ive always wanted to get into vectoring, it always looks so smooth when the final product comes out

No lol, I mean the app Freehand - Its part of the macromedia package - Its their version of adobe's illustrator. IMO, its easier (but I guess that tends to come down to personal preference seeing as they're so similar)

Is it actually simpler to use? It took me a good while to get used to Illustrator, especially after being spoilled by Photoshop's user friendliness.

Yeah, if you know illustrator it doesnt take long at all to pick up freehand. I dunno, I prefer freehand though. Just seems like everything is in the right place, moreso than Illustrator....but if you're used to illustrator there is no point going to freehand because they do the same thing. beer:

Does Freehand also make animations? I know Illustrator let's you create and animate for Flash stuff.

yeah, freehand is part of the macromedia studio so it's alot easier to connect your freehand work with flash.

I havnet treid feathering with photoshop, but if you can feather out the edges it really brings them out well. (certain layers etc)

have not attempted another one since my m&m try, as to be frank it takes too longgggggg to get final product

That's pretty awesome stuff elstatec. I think I'll give Freehand a try. Just one thing before I do...does it also use the pen tool the way Illustrator does? As far as creating curves? I'm not sure if that makes sense. You know when you use the pen tool, and you hold down on the mouse button to stretch out a line/curve with anchor points? Does Freehand do the same?
