F**king daylight savings
I hate it, its so stupid, here it is 5:48pm and it looks like its 9:30 pm outside. Days are so short now. Anyone else hate daylight savings? mad:

Move to Saskatchewan.
|
i do, it pisses me off cuz i have to change my mind set and schedule
|
no
|
Technically you mean you LOVE 'daylight savings' since its 'daylight savings' which EXTENDS the daylight during the summer. We just switched back to 'standard time' which blows.

I completely agree, I hate when it gets dark so early. Living in AL is even worse than in other states, because there have been several attempts to move us into EST because the difference is very marginal. So essentially we've got EST sunsets but yet we're in CST. Because of that, it's already pitch dark by 5:15. In the dead of winter, it's pitch black by 4:45. No shit, 4:45. I'm not talking about it being dusk, I'm talking about like 10:00 just like you described. It's fucking gay. I might as well be living in fucking Alaska it gets dark here so early.

i blame the Earth for being tilted on its axis 23.5 degrees
|
I don't mind it. Probably because i'm at a way higher latitude than the rest of you.
I like it because i'm up at 5:45am and now the sun will rise a little bit earlier. Before, it was 8:30am before it wasn't dark out anymore. |
Yeah, i dislike it also. Heard a shit load of reasons as to why they do it but......you can thank Benjamin Franklin.

seriously who the fuck cares?... just set all you clocks/watches back before bed, and you wont even notice in the morning...
i personally enjoyed it at 2am (last call) when the clock went back to 1am, therefore extending my drinking time by an hour... |
It's worse in the spring time. Hard to get up sleeping:
|

I don't care about the actual time change. It doesn't bother me a bit. I just don't like it being pitch dark before dinnertime stupid:

I dunno, I don't care. I just like the fact that when I wake up the sun is actually up.

So... wouldn't it be worse to be moved to EST? It would be darker an hour earlier, unless I'm totally missing the point... |
i was an hour early for work... and I started at 7am cry:

What I'm saying is AL is so close to being in the EST, but we're not. The time that the sun sets here is practically the same as what it does in NY, FL, etc... Since we're still in CST the sun sets unusually soon, whereas if the time was in fact switched to EST it would set @ about 6:00, which is a more normal time for the sun to go down on standard time. It'd be like living on the time zone line, standing on the EST side and saying, "it's 6:00 and it's dark," then go back over the line to CST and say, "It's 5:00 and it's dark." There are actually a few cities in AL that have switched to EST, even though the actual time zone line never breaches the AL/GA state line. |
Oh ok. Yeah, MI is the most westward state in EST. Kind of sucks...
|
Living in California it never seemed as if daylight savings made difference on the sun save for the time. Jesus, in Colorado it's like major impact.

I should not be looking outside now at 4:40 and notice that it will be really dark in a half hour. |

Only an hour...true but.....i don't like when it gets dark earlier. The days just seem to fly by and it just makes winter appear colder when it's dark. |
Meh. I like it when it gets dark earlier.
