F*cking College

So I go to check the course list, checking the classes I chose weeks ago. All my primaries, all my secondaries, and all my tertiaries. Keep in mind, I can't even register until November 9th at 5, and this occured at around 6 on the 8th. What do I see? ALL MY CLASSES ARE FULL UP!

In a panic, I ask my friends whose last names are in the former half of the alphabet, and they got ALL THEIR CLASSES.

SO next semester, it looks like I get stuck with either A) Dropping out, or B) Dropping loads of cash on a bunch of bullshit classes. Apparently, having an A-L last name makes you more worthy of a proper education than us M-Z steerage. FUCK YOU MIAMI. FUCK YOU IN THE ANUS.

Mr.Buttocks 11-08-2006 08:04 PM

So, are you going to take this up the cuntpipe like a bitch? Or are you going to shoot the place up tomorrow???

[DAS REICH] Blitz 11-08-2006 08:05 PM

complain shitface

CoMaToSe 11-08-2006 08:06 PM

Mr.Buttocks 11-08-2006 08:07 PM

they could put you in just to appease you.....although theyd have to have two extra seats for your fat ass AOWOWOWWOWHWHW WHOOP DER IT IS

Coleman 11-08-2006 08:09 PM

i don't think the alphabetic name would make a difference. That may just be a coincidence?

They usually do it by total completed credits. That way, the juniors have pick at classes over freshmen. It's all a big seniority scale which makes it fair.

well it could be possible for the freshman class to do it by total scheduled credits. That way, if they have 19 credits scheduled and you have 14, it would make sense.

Pyro 11-08-2006 08:24 PM

M > all

but like you ya im pissed off when classes are full...like ESPECIALLY when they are fucking REQUIRED classes for your major.

Nyck 11-08-2006 08:26 PM

Jotun 11-08-2006 08:37 PM

yea, i schedule on friday....not going to be good.

Coleman 11-08-2006 08:43 PM

my schedule is good because i have more cum. credits compared to other kids taking the same major. Plus, there's only 1 or 2 sections available for each music course which kinda sucks.

rofl I got that too happy:

Chronic Diarrhea 11-08-2006 08:58 PM

Coma, this shit happens at EVERY university. You put yourself on a wait list for those classes. Many people will drop once they hear word that the professor is hard, or the class sucks, etc. As a freshman you shouldn't even be in your major classes yet anyway. You need a wide array of core curriculum to complete before you get into your major classes. You're telling me there's no history, computer, language, writing, lit, or science classes available for you to enroll in? Go ahead and get that done, as I'm sure there's open slots for some of those courses.

Don't bitch yet until you're on a 2 year wait list for a course that is only offered during the fall, at only one time of the day, and the only way to take it requires you to fuck up your work hours.

Got my scedule this semester...How the heirarchy goes here is...
Students w/ disabilities (learning or otherwise), Honors students, Class seniority, declared major. Also you can only get certain classes or get signed into certain classes if your major pertains to that ckass. It rocks i was one of the first of the normal students to register for classes biggrin:

Sgt>Stackem 11-09-2006 06:12 AM

freshmen never get the best classes. you will wind going to the late Thurday and late Friday classes. those are always open because the other students dont want that time slot, it interfers with thier partying beer:

you dont understand. Other freshman here in the A-L bracket GOT THEIR FIRST CHOICE CLASSES.

And they dont schedule that way, classes are either MWF (Monday Wednesday Friday) or TR (Tuesday Thursday); theres no 'Friday' classes.

Nyck 11-09-2006 06:36 AM

are your freshman "friends" in honors? because Honors got to go before the regular nublets at school.

nope. I've been through all these variables with credit hours and age and honors, and it really does just boil down to alphabetical order. Plus, Honors students wouldnt be taking, say. the same english level I would, and I got raped there.

Sgt>Stackem 11-09-2006 07:37 AM

I think you are wrong. There is no way in hell it is by name. That would never fly. There would be lawsuits all over the place. You were late. You fucked up. You need to take some responsibilty for YOUR fuckup. It is always easy to blame the other guy but if you got off your ass and were the first in line you would have gotten your classes.

Nyck 11-09-2006 07:39 AM

ya I think you fucked up somewhere, either that or the dean of Miami of Ohio is a GF1 member as well and hates you.

My registration time STARTS at 5pm today. I can't even get into my registartion control panel until then. The classes are already full up, including non honors freshmen. I am not alone here. My quad is surging with angry M-Z freshmen who got fucked by Miami University. The school fucked up, not us.

c312 11-09-2006 09:36 AM

I start registering today as well, but unlike you, I am in the first registration group excluding disabilities.

What I do if I can't get a class I want is just wait and keep checking them throughout the open registration time period. Something is bound to come up. I've never had a class earlier than 10:15 or later than 3. I'm a scheduling master. Just wait and keep checking the registration thing (ours is called "ecampus") for new openings. Hell, I even had a class that I needed have an opening in July, so I snagged it then before I even went to school.

but you can have a 5pm MWF class... or a 5pm TR class...

If all the classes you want are full, your school has some major faculty issues.. you should be taking mostly all generals along with the rest of the freshmen, if you are telling me that all the general classes are full and HALF the freshmen class has yet to register... I'd get out of that place... But honestly its not hard to pick up the classes you need. Just sign up for some bullshit classes, then GO to the classes you WANT to be in. Considering they should all be huge lectures, there will be lots of people who drop the class in the first week. I dont know how your school handles that, maybe they have wait lists, or sometimes you can go straight to the professor and they will add you...

frosh's annoy:

Madmartagen 11-09-2006 11:16 AM

i go to Cal State Fullerton and it is way overpopulated right now, so they opened 2 satellite campuses in orange county. as mentioned previously, seniors get first pick and they go down the line from there. I went to a JC first and transferred with 70 units as a Junior. My registration comes and all the classes i need are full, so im out of luck. all my core classes are completed, so all i have left are upper division classes and they usually have only one section for each class. you can either see a counselor or attend the class anyways and petition for it.

Unknown_Sniper 11-09-2006 12:14 PM

We use credits or the seniority scale. If you have more than 60 credits you can get classes before someone with 30. Im not pissed off about full classes but the fact that they are only offering 1 out of 3 classes for my major at my level. That means I will be two classes behind come the fall of 07.

CoMaToSe 11-09-2006 05:06 PM

Update: Via the mircale of the force add and one instance of "this kid just got expelled", I got two of my classes. I didnt get the english theme I wanted, but whatever. Also didnt get my lab course, I guess I end up taking that next year. I got into Astrophysics, I was like "well I cant get into nuclear energy, this sounds cool". Ended up taking a higher COM class than I wanted, but its one I have to take to get into the major anyway, Ill take the lower one next year.
