wings: I like the moves for Calder and Bertuzzi. We didnt give up anything and they are great gritty players, something the wings havent had for the last few years in the playoffs. If bertuzzi has a few games to warm up and he is healthy that is going to be a HUGE deal

I like the moves for the sharks and canucks as well. both those teams improved greatly.

I'm not sure Muckler was listening to the needs and wants of the bench or the fans. Yeah, they got a decent forward in Saprykin, but they don't NEED a decent forward. They need another defenseman to pick up the slack for cough-ups like Corvo.

Anyway, San Jose did well, Pittsburgh did really well, and Biron must feel like he got kicked in the bag while asleep...going first to worst.

I'm almost fucking done with this team. After the Gretzky, Messier, Coffey, Kurri, Fuhr, Ranford, Anderson, Lowe, Huddy, Mactavish, Moog, Weight, Guerin and Joseph trades, you'd think I'd be used to it by now.

Well, I'm fucking not used to it.

Smyth was right up there with my favourite Oilers of all time (the top spot occupied by one Billy Ranford).

I guess I'll focus on the Sens now, as it's painfully obvious that the Oilers have folded up the tent for the year.

zoner...if they could get smith back in the summer when he is a ufa then they would have got 3 first rounders for nothing basically. i guess thats what oiler fans have to hope for now. but i have read that it is possible that the two sides were not happy with each other at all so it could be the end of captain canada in edmonton.

Yeah, there is always that possibility that he could pull a Weight and come back to the team that traded him at the deadline. I highly doubt that will happen.

I'm so mad at Kevin Lowe right now...I can't even put it into words.

Perreault is a solid addition to the Leafs. He may be 36, but he can still put the puck in the net, win face offs like it's no one's business, and comes up clutch big time. We only had to give up a guy who barely played....basically our 7th defenseman.

The leafs needed Guerin or Roberts.. Yanic is still a decent addition as well, and to top it off it seems he is happy with the move as well.

Yanic is pimp, but we needed a winger for Mats Sundin more than anything. But this will help take some of the weight off sundins back that we got now two good faceoff men.

Replace "Smyth" with "Iginla" and "Oilers" with "Flames" and see how you'd feel.

Smyth and Iginla won't ever bring a team to win the stanley cup anyways.

But the thing is Iginla would never get traded for a couple prospects and a first round pick. We actually have a GM that is competent in making sound hockey decisions.

We will have to face it after the 08 season. Regehr, Iginla, Kipper, Husselius, Langkow Hamerlik and a few other contracts are all up.

And we did face it when Fleury was traded to the Avs for nothing.
