Ive a wii sitting here as well, funny enough i just picked up re4 for the cube 2 days ago, yet to play the fucking thing yet. That ad was pretty good, certaily a lot better thn the "this is living" shite sonys putting out. oOo:

I don't see it being gimmicky at all. What people sem to fail to realise is the majority of wii games out there right now are ps2 ports with tacked on controls. Devs need time to come up with new ways of playing the games, also graphically the wi has yet to be showcased yet. annoy: Its arguably as powerful if not more than the original xbox, yet those level of graphics have yet to be seen because of the porting madness.

wii is doomed, thing is with the old rules of gaming it just used to be graphics vs gameplay, but now with the wii you have got the controls competing to be a major part of the product so game play and graphics become diluted with shit.

I don't see wii being doomed at all, its still very hard to get a hold of in america, nintendo have stated theyre at max production ramping and the things being sold out left and right. Even in europe and the uk its still pretty hard to get a hold of, ive seen plenty going on ebay recently on uk auctions for well over the odds. if they were easily available i don't see many people going to ebay to get one.

Really depends on the developers, focusing on the one thing can be fatal to any game. I don't really think focusing on the controls will be too much of a problem if the dev in question has a good idea of what they want. Still early days though. In about 18 months it should be apparant what the story is with wii games in general.

We have PS3s by the shit ton at work, but we can never get Wiis to keep in stock. They are gone an hour after they arrive.

I have a wii and so far the only game Ive really enjoyed would have to be zelda, I found myself buying more of their classic games through their shop than buying new ones for example atm the only games I have is zelda and warioware, Im really desappointed with the games out for the same reason gerv explained. Im sick of all these games for other systems with tacked on controlls.

Atm Im contemplating selling my wii but I would really hate to do it and have good games come out for it later, Im still holding a glimmer of hope for super smash brothers which isnt out yet, Im really interested to see how the gameplay and controls are. If anything I just hope they dont fuck it up because that was one of the best games nintendo has had on their gamecube and 64

well get a gamecube and n64 again.

i still own everyone of my classic n64 games, physically, whilst with the wii you get ripped off to download the same thing that only exists as digital data - whilst you could buy an n64 and get those very games off ebay/some retro stores for much cheaper.

i mean come on this wins hands down..

had one but sold it for 3x the amount i bought it for on ebay.

plus im actually a sega fanboy with a little hand in nintendo.

I held out for a year on the 360 waiting for it to build a game list worth the money. Im doing the same for the Wii and Ps3.

ill be getting this for sure. i'm a big resident evil fan. Umbrella Chronicles looks sick aswell.

How sega ever had the cash to release the dreamcast with the way they fucked over their fanbase time and time again is a mystery. Saying that though the nintendo and sega wars were fun times back in the day. Makes me wonder what the market would be like today if the dreamcast had been a success and they had stayed in the hardware business, 4 consoles to choose from instead of 3.

but Why are they re releasing res 4 for the wii? i mean that games been out for a while now, I beat it on the ps2 a long time ago, great game and all but you think they would of just waited for the next resident evil or somethin? and I hope its not the same game with just tacked on controls

remember they did that with the resident evil gun survivor games on the ps1+2, and they suckkkked.Just buy resident evil 4 gamecube edition, cheaper, and it wont be ruined by the stupid fucking controls.

How exactly does more precise aiming = stupid controls? RE4 on the cube is a good game but the controls like nearly all re games make you feel like you're in control of a tank and not a person. Its not some dinky gun addon theyre doing so it could work well and judging from the trailers it looks to be pretty simple to use.
