Unless your going to get the latest ATI Radeon, which you don't list. I would go with the Geforce2 TI
------------------ Not so Rude, RudeDog http://www.landi.net/rd.jpg |
I would go with Geforce 2.
|
Miyagi,I have just recently built a machine for myself and the G-force 2 Ti 64MB Was on my spec list and I recomend it highly. The Graphics are smooth and I have had no problems with it so far. Yes to the G-Force 2 Ti 64MB.

thanks guys
i'll see what i can get tomorrow. although the place i'm goin doesn't have much stock, i'll post a topic sayin what i got. cheers people. |
Personnally, if you have the budget, go with either a Geforce 4 Ti 4600 or a Radeon 8500. Why not start at the top instead of in the bottom?
|
WELL GUYS, I'VE JUS ORDERED A GEFORCE2 TI 64MB DDR VIDEO CARD FOR £61/72INC.VAT
WHAT D'YA THINK O THAT. |
I have a GeForce2 Ultra 64mb
and am having serious lagging problems when I get on to the beech at Omaha I love the Obj games but as soon as Omaha starts it just starts to slow down til it becomes unplayable.. I have turned all the settings to min with no improvement and if I stay in the buildings all is okish..I have the latest Nvida drivers and am running Win Xp.. I have 1.4 ghz pent 4 with 384 mb ram so it should not be so bad .. oh my connex is cable with an upload od 450kb/ps and a download of 750kb/ps (its on a 4 mb BT megastream fibre Optic line) so it must be the Gfx Card .. any ideas as to what to do ? |

Man, I get bad FPS (shudder) with a GeForce3 Ti200 with 64 MB DDR. Is my 950 Celeron that bad, got ATA100 HDD, and 384 MB RAM, but I the L2 Cache is only 128 MB. For 200 CDN, I can get a 1200 with 256 L2. Should I go, or try to tweak (1024X768) with lots of stuff on high?
What kind of system do you need to run the game on the highest settings ?? |
i'd say u need to run everything on max is at least a 800mhz processor, 256 ram, a 64mb geforce2 mx400/gts/ultra.
thats my guess. on my other pc-p4,1.5ghz,256ram,64mb geforce2 mx400 it runs at around 40 fps on max apart from shadows and dynamic lights which i turned off as there not much use 2 me. ------------------ ' WaX oN, wAx Off ' |

Heh, this might be a bit off-road but i got the good ol' Geforce 256 DDR, 650 mhz Pentium III and 256 SDRAM, it works good although i need to decrease some settings, mainly the color ones. But unfortunately, it does lag, I have usually some 15 fps in combat, lesser in Omaha about 8 usually and this is in a GOOD SERVER, so dont whine if your FPS is under 20 http://www.alliedassault.com/ubb/wink.gif

ah but there is a big difference between 256 and 64mb DDR Ti cards, i should get about 25-50 i reckon, constant! so there, thanks for the comment tho ------------------ ' WaX oN< >wAx Off ' Obi Wan Miyagi |
Sniper Wolf I suggest to you that you upgrade soon to a g-Force 2 64MB. It has smoother graphics and ihave had no lagging problems with my new G-Force 2 so hop on the trendy train to you nearest Nvidia Manufacturer and grab yourself a G-Force 2.

I got the GF2MX400 running on a celeron 333 overclocked to 450, 128mb SDRAM 14 Gig ATA100 HD and a DSL connection. If I didnt have the GF2 I dont think my PC would be able to run MOHAA. The surprising thing is I actually get descent frame rates 20-30, all the settings are low but still its running on a Celeron 333!!!!!! so yea I agree with most of you the GF2 is the best bang for tha buck right now!

Dear mr.miyagi, Could you post your fps in MOH, because I have the same system; a pentium 3 700@866, 192 sdram and a geforce 2 ti. But my fps always lays around 10-15 sometimes 20-25 and indoor 30+. But I have to lower my settings so it's at 800X600 and 16 colorbit and 32 texturecolor. So please put your fps so I can compare with them

None of the above, go for the Geforce 4 Ti 4600! woohoo! heh
Nah, Geforce 2, d00d. Im gettin GF4, anyone want a Geforce 3??? heh ~FOG|Bazooka_Joe ------------------ http://members.aol.com/nray7882/mysig3.jpg |

well, i would disagree.
if its not to late, ide go for the KyroII. when i went for a cheap and cheerful graphics card, that was my first choice, but they didnt have any in stock so i just took the GF2 i have now. i had the Kyro, and it done me proud, and still is in my second system. i suggest you have a look at some benchmarks comparing the kyroII and GF2 range. http://www.alliedassault.com/ubb/smile.gif that will make your mind up. |
I have a gf2 ti and i can run mohaa in 124x768 in 32bit with all the max graphic settings and it runs spot on. My brother has a gf3 ti200 and runs no better than my gf2. Waste of money in my eyes. By the way my system is a amd 1200 266bus 256mb and a 512kbps connection.

Fellas:
just got the game today, after many battles on MOH and MOHU. The game is great, but I feel like I have to set everything low to get decent gameplay otherwise its slow.I'd like to use the features rather than having to turn them all off. I'm running 900Mhz P3, GeForce2 MX 400, 128 Ram. Is the RAM my problem, should I get more, or should I get a better card! Anyone with configuration advice please help! |
GeForce 2 absolutely, best thing ever.
|
Make sure you let us know your finding when you get your new card. You can write a little review about the install drivers and gameplay http://www.alliedassault.com/ubb/smile.gif
This should help a lot of other members that are in the same boat as you. ------------------ Not so Rude, RudeDog http://www.landi.net/rd.jpg |
Go for the geforce 2, like i advised you yesterday
|
Is there a precipitous dropoff between the Geforce2 MX 400 and the Geforce 2 Ti?
|
i have ordered the GEFORCE2 Ti 64MB DDR video card and if its not here tomorrow then it'll here the next day. its on its way to me now.
As mentioned by 'Rudedog' i will be telling you my findings as of when it arrives, i'll do a review of it and tell u my fps increase etc,etc... can't wait, i mainly bought this card to play MOH online u know! its jus great. i think my current specs can handle it fine as in multiplayer i've noticed it doesn't use my processor much at all but the slowdown you see on screen jus annoyed me too much, the mp games i guess were going at an amazing speed of 8 frames per second(more like per minute) and usually had a top fps of 12-15. of course i wasn't expecting much of my TNT2 as on my other pc it runs very nice indeed. this pc i'm mainly using is a: Celeron 700mhz 192mb sdram 17" screen a measley 4.86 Gb hard drive (yes, it is amazing isn't it!)-its an upgraded pc so thats why it won't blow you away. although the pc (p4-1,5ghz,256ram,64mb geforce2 mx400) doesn't have the 128k modem line i have on this one. i get pings never over 250 and usually about 150-170 sometimes even 80-90. aaaanyway, rest assured i'll tell you what effect its had when i get it. speak to ya soon. ps-should i post in a new topic or reply to this one? ------------------ ' WaX oN, wAx Off ' |
