look at this picture, notice any thing wrong?
http://www.mohaa.ea.com/images/sshot...shot-lg_19.jpg well, look at the fuselage of the stukas, mainly the colors. The yellow band around the back where the tail meets the fuselage is incorrect! The color of the band (in bombers and transports only, fighters are a whole different story) denoted what area of opperations the aircraft was assigned to. Yellow was for the Eastern Front, that meens Russia, poland and the balkans. This picture is obviously of North afrika, probibly tunisia or lybia. As such the band should be WHITE. Developers and map artists PLEASE take note. I know I'm gonna get bitched at for being anal, but tough titty. ------------------ Ein Führer! Ein Volk! Ein Vaterland! SS-PzGren |
This is Oberleutnant Walter Sigel's Ju. 87D-1/Trop of Geschwaderkommodore Stukageschwader 3, in Lybia in 1942. Notice the white stripe...

...but after about mid 1943 the crews tended to ommit the stripe in due to camouflage reasons take this pic for example...

Shouldn't the Stuka also be yellow?
------------------ http://www.matrixturkey.homestead.co...gmohSMALL3.jpg |
Ah yes, I was right. I posted my reply before the pics loaded.
------------------ http://www.matrixturkey.homestead.co...gmohSMALL3.jpg |
yes, but they only started painting them tan in the factory latter on in the war (mid-late 1942), the second photo is of a factory applied sceme, earlier they would be delivered to the front and cammoed by their crews upon arrival, S7+KS is an example of this. who knows what period the screen shot is supposed to be... plus there are always exceptions, they MIGHT have been transfers from italy hypothetically

Maybe those Stukas are from the Balkans.

Again, ya all gotta remember that this picture is from the game in early development, (like all the German soldiers having the same face) I'm sure 2015 had time to fine tune all of its Troops and Vehicles Land and Air. Anyway, i'm sure they will not cease to amaze all of us when its finally released. I can totally sympathise to what your saying though cuz I consider myself pretty well read in World War II and I'm going to be one of those people who will be looking for accuracy in this game as well as you. Peace.

they COULD be but of all the crews to go to afrika, probibly 98% came through from Italy, remember, the reason that germany got involved in afrika in the first place is because Italy requested help, and they basicly got suckered in from there.

who gives a shit about the white/yellow stripe?
LMAO I just want to play! ------------------ http://3rdInfantry.homestead.com/fil.../Captblade.jpg |
yea, ahhh well i can see whats gonna happen when yo buy the game, "oh those mother fuckers, the german rifle stock is 1/4 of an inch to short, ha they cant do anything authentic," you must have lots of trouble going with the flow dont you?it must be hard to make friends for you.

I agree ! When I eat pea soup, each and every spoonful has to have 3 peas in it: no more, no less.
|
I've something to add about the picture Bürgen started the post with,
The 88mm Flak Kannon's Barrel and breech are to far back on the recoil slide. It looks as if it is returning to batterie after firing a round. So, If you wanted it to look almost dead on, move the Breech forward so the recoil cylinder is nearly closed. |
Quiet you.

now this might be inviting a fight.
*puts on boxing gloves* *adds extra strip of razor wire* http://www.pcgamers.net/ubb/smile.gif *cough* DETAILS LIKE THIS ARE INSIGNIFCANT TO THE ACTUAL GAME-PLAY AND STRUCTURE OF THE GAME ITSELF!!! *whispers* the day of light would do you good. now, on a lighter note, waff dude and bergen(sp). i dont really have anything against you two... but you seem to be together to point out every little sub-minor detail flaw.... now i know its helpfull, but this had got to be draining the morale of the 2015 crew... if i thought i had done a superb, uber great job of a model/character/etc then someone started pointing out all the detail flaws, stuff that only you or the actual designer might notice..... then i would feel pretty low. it would be the same if i were to goto your house and start picking at your nicely built porch... pointing out the loose screws and badly done stain job.... this is of course AFTER you had spent 3 months building it perfectly and then felt very proud about it. sorry, fuck i rant sometimes. ------------------ ----Savour Since 1982---- |
ya I dont think 2015 wants you guys to point every flaw of the game
------------------ http://303rdbga.com/303logo2.gif |
yes yes, thats my point
but more detail im mean sure... i would point out something obvious like... perhaps the german light infantry soldier used a toilet brush instead of a rifle.... now thats kinda across the line... but u get the point ------------------ ----Savour Since 1982---- |
I'm sure such small problems will not detract from gameplay AT ALL.
|
|
yes disapointed me as well....
there goes my plan to start a 101st Mr.Clean Clan |

Actually, we like the flaws pointed out, but we just ask that you don't expect all of them to be fixed :). Cosmetic flaws like this are easy to fix. And actually, as someone mentioned, that was the only stuka we had done at the time of those shots (european theater scheme), so we didn't have a North African scheme to use.
But I'll send this post to Brad, our skinner so when he makes the Africa one he'll take the stripe into consideration :). ------------------ ----------------------- Latuh fuh U, Benson benson@2015.com "We don't introduce or cause bugs in the game, we merely find and bring to light the inadequacies within the code." -regarding level designers |
DUH!!! my dumb. He already has it done (I just didn't notice it in our editor :). And guess what.....it has the white stripe around the tail end ;)p.
So no worries there, already done :) ------------------ ----------------------- Latuh fuh U, Benson benson@2015.com "We don't introduce or cause bugs in the game, we merely find and bring to light the inadequacies within the code." -regarding level designers |
Well, there ya go http://www.pcgamers.net/ubb/biggrin.gif
------------------ http://www.usmedals.com/prodpix/p295.jpg Blessed be the Lord my strength, which teacheth my hands to War and my fingers to fight. |
Problem solved. Now let's move on to point the next tiny detail that has NO effect on game play.
|
lol@hans

you must realize that the game is made for every one to enjoy, even us anal types. I would be offended, as a world war two reenactor, and a self proclaimed historian, if some one billed a game as authentic, but then had the canadian paras wearing pink tu-tus. It must be made for both the authenticity crowd AND the 'I just want to kill things' crowd. other wise there would have to be thousands of WWII games out there to satisfy each individual person
------------------ Ein Führer! Ein Volk! Ein Vaterland! SS-PzGren |
Gee, ya think ?
(sarcastic remark with a hint of humor - not to be taken seriously) |
yep i agree
but you have to consider, which one should they strive for more in the terms of budget and time-frame for production i agree that realism is a great thing, i would love this game to be as realisitic as possible...... but... im sure they will find a lovely balance between real and game. ------------------ ----Savour Since 1982---- |
heheh, trust me, we have different people for the different tasks needed. Brad's job is purely skinning the models for the game (along with being our resident all around swell guy ;)p. So authenticity in matters such as this is his task. Having our skinner take care of details like this on our models isn't going to make the AI or game code suffer since he's not working on it anyways ;)p.
