is this game a sim or action game? It better not be a sim like that peice of $hit Operation flashpoint. I hope its a good game like the original medal of honors, SoF or NOLF.

can someone please verify which one it is?

Hells-Angel 07-14-2001 04:58 AM

its a mixture of both, I actually like opf, very fun to me

yea , i see it as a mix between both , but more geared towards action/story driven instead of simulation .

OFP is pretty cool once you get used to it. Oh Yeah, There is this file one of my friends made that allows you to order a soldier to kill himself. You don't know how good it is to do that after they accidentally shot up your ass. He turns his gun up to his face and fires. Sometimes his head comes off.

That operation flashpoint was the biggest pile of donkey nuts ive ever had the misfortune of playing. The controls just felt..well floaty as hell is one way of putting it. You never really felt as if you were firing a gun either.

Amen Vermilion

Vermilion Leader 07-17-2001 08:28 AM

First time I see some 12 yeaqr old lamer bunny hopping while turing a corner I will personally hunt him down at the spawn point a kill him repeatedly until he leaves the game.

If it is not a sim or a least an EXTREMELY realistic game, it should be. There are enough "Action Games" out there for the teen age ritalin junkie punks to play, if you dont want MOH to be as realistic as is possible GO AWAY. The kiddie players ruined Counterstrike, dont let them ruin MOH.

Ladmo 07-17-2001 10:38 AM

I think it'll be your standard FPS with a few extras. I don't think that 2015 is going to stray too far away from the orginal MoH world.

billybob 07-19-2001 09:48 AM

Vermilion Leader.... what are you, some sort of crack head? This Should be an action game because of its whole approach. I'd like to see you play the Omaha Beackh level only being able to get hit once so i could laugh in you your face every time you die. What the hell is up with you saying that action games are for "teenagers". I bet more people play the Serious Sam demo more than the OFP demo. so shut your mouth and try to think just a little more in this forum than you usually would.

Kraut Killer 07-19-2001 10:16 AM

Gerard, when have you ever played a game where you actually feel like you're firing a gun?

------------------
I told you I'd shoot, but you didn't believe me! WHY DIDN'T YOU BELIEVE ME?

SoLiDUS 07-19-2001 10:18 AM

Vermillion, I'm neither a junkie nor a pimple-faced teen and yet, I enjoy "bunny-hopping" around corners to blast people like you to hell and back.

I look forward to emptying my Thompson in your face http://www.pcgamers.net/ubb/biggrin.gif

geRV 07-19-2001 10:38 AM

Actually in DOd i feel like im firing a gun. Operation flashpoint is crap the graphics are bog standard and the sounds are weak. When ever you fire a gun it doesn't sound like its real. In dod it sounds real and thats what i mean.

billybob 07-19-2001 10:39 AM

Amen http://www.pcgamers.net/ubb/smile.gif

Hans 07-19-2001 11:05 PM

I think we need to calm down a bit and stop with this "your taste sucks", you guys are sounding like a troop of teen-age girls going clothes shopping. You guys are just going to have to except that DIFFERENT people like DIFFERENT things, and move on.

geRV 07-19-2001 11:17 PM

Are you saying that the graphics in DoD are better? I think not!

Did i say that?? For your info dod is made mostly by teenagers so i dont expect teh graphics to be brilliant but theyare good. Add to the fact that its free so in a lot of ways its better than OFP. Operation flashpoints made by proffesionals so i would expect its graphics to be better.

The only good thing i seen in the day i had that game was the lips moving when they talked.

lucky 07-19-2001 11:18 PM

exactly hans, some of my friends still like playing heretic 2!!! i mean for gods sake, its old and maybe gameplay was good, but its rather gay after other like games like rune or whatever, but, if you like heretic 2 no offense against ya if thats your bag go ahead and play the hell out of it.

BallisticWookie 07-19-2001 11:35 PM

Your taste in games sucks, atleast OFP is more of a realistic combat simulation than DoD is. And quite frankly the sounds in OFP are very realistic, close to if not exactly what the weapons sound like. OFP is THE most realistic Combat Simulation to date, and it was made by guys who had actually been in the Military. The graphics in OFP are fine by me, I'd rather them do what they did..make HUGE, very well done outdoor environments and ok player models, then spend all their time working on making the player models awesome and not getting the environments right. The game is balanced very well, the graphics are above standard, the sounds come close to if not exactly right, the weapon ballistics are spot on, and its a great mix of tactical combat and flat out action. You can piss and whine all you want about how crap you think OFP is, but if you cant see how great and well done that game is you should take your head out of your ass and take a closer look.

Blessed be the Lord my strength, which teacheth my hands to War and my fingers to fight.

Recycled Spooge 07-19-2001 11:50 PM

DoD takes place in a "shoebox" level while Operation Flashpoint takes place in a more *realistic* outdoor environment. When I play DoD I feel like I'm inside a maze, but when I play Operation Flashpoint I feel like I'm outside on a plain by a huge forest.

PLease shut your mouth. If my taste in games "sucks" wonder what im doing waiting on medal of honour being released? Everyone has an opinion of a game and in my opinion operation flashpoint is a piece of crap. And there isn't a damn thing you can do or say to change my opinion so dont waste your breath.

Recycled Spooge 07-20-2001 10:58 AM
