Stats for aa.com server...

Rude and other aa.com server members.I'm not entirely sure how they work but i would love to have them on the aa.com server (To see how badly you get OWNED). I'm sure many of the aa.comers would love it too. If it costs some bucks i'd be willing to pitch in some money. What are you thougts??

Given what I've learned from the MOH Stats site, it actually wouldn't be too hard. However, it would take some extra work on RD's side.

Set the server to create a log file. Copy the log file to your website and change the name to something meaningful (like a date). The stat script is in PHP and will parse the log. It won't be "real-time", but it will display logs of player scores. The catch would be that you would have to do that daily and shut down the server to clear the original log file (to avoid overlapping stats).

I'll gladly post more info on the stats as I learn about them.

Why would you need to constantly reboot the svr? Don't the server stats just accumilate? Like it keeps track of all your kills like AA.COM does with your posts?

Yes, the stats continue no matter what you do. But, if you try to empty the log while the server's running, it will crash anyway. At least, that's what the CLUG guy's saying (the stats scripter). So you would need to restart it daily - say like 6am. Not a big deal if no one's on at that time anyway (even when I'm only running stock maps it's empty at 6am).

If you don't empty the log file, btw, then the stats won't be accurate to one day.

If you're a scripting genius, however, you could write a cron job that would do all of this for you anyway (copy everything in the log to a new file, stop the game server, empty the log file, restart the server). However, I don't pretend to know how to write shell scripts (NT or Linux), so I wouldn't be of any help to you there.
