Anyone have MS flight simulator 2002?

How is it, is it worth buying. I have 2001 and its very good. I've heard this is much better?

I imagine its just an update, new and more planes, new landmarks, more details here and there, probably better graphics etc, and i think it would also have the WTC removed...

alright!!!!!!!!!!!!!! sing it bro!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! biggrin:

seriously though, this is my first flight sim, so i can't compare it to the earlier versions. I first started playing it with the keyboard, but then quickly bought a joystick, as a keyboard is no way to fly a plane. The graphics are good, the cities are generally close to matching what they really are like, only in terms of layout though. Forget finding real buildings u know and love, unless it's a big city like Toronto where of course they'll be the CN Tower and the skydome. Lately though, i haven't been playing my flight sim. The joystick is getting dusty... I bought this game after returning from a flight from calgary. So if u wanna save a few bucks, don't make hasty purchases. Wait a week for the urge to buy to die down. But overall, Flight sim 2002 is very good. It has an excellent flying school where u learn how to fly planes, and it has cool air traffic control dialogues. And then all the other features expected of a flight sim, like weather settings, different planes to choose from, etc. I give it a thumbs up.

Happy now?

It's a fun simulator. The graphics are sooo much better than MSFS2000. (There is not 2001, btw.) I used to have some screenshots of cities I'd flown over, but when I reformatted, I forgot to back them up. Anyways, if you've got a good computer to run it, it's an awesome game. Gotta love those C182 cross-country flights.

I tried playing the older ones a couple of times, I never could get the hang of it. I was using a mouse and keyboard to fly. That was most of my problem.

Well after sept 11 i think ppl that own it are probably scared of it. Their probably hiding when they see their plane crash on the computer.

I have FS2002 Pro. I can't compare it to any other flight sim on the PC as this is my first. I can say I don't regret shelling out the $$$ for it.

* HD hog
* you'll need a great PC to get anything close to decent fps
* landscape graphics ok, nothing outstanding
* plane models look awesome inside and out
* options up the yingyang
* great force feedback effects (recommend force feedback joystick with all 3 axis)
* mouse/keyboard flying is a joke

There are mods all over the place. My personal favorite site is

http://www.flightsim.com

They've got more planes than you can download (I've burned 4-5 CDs full of zip files), sound mods, panel mods, terrain meshes from USGS, real and ficticious locales, boats, cars, motorcycles, tanks, etc, etc...

You're obviously into flight sims so I have no doubt you'll enjoy it. I personally prefer Combat Flight Simulator 2, as I tend to get bored just flying around. I'd rather blow shit up!
