n00b question about map modding
I'm currently working on a customization to the Algiers mod for my server. I've taken all the BS out (no offense) like the extra weapons, health and ammo all over the place. I successfully figured out how to move an mg-42 and removed some redundant weapons (mg-42 on the temple towards the back and the *secret* mg-42 that was unaccessible).
One of the things I'm working on is trying to add a ladder to the roof-top that was granted access in this mod - the powerlines just seems too unrealistic (although I'm leaving it as is). The idea is to provide more than one way onto this roof. Anyway, I've looked and looked and I may just be missing something, but where's the ladder model so I can add it? In the stock pak files, that is. Could someone throw me an example of how to add it? I can figure out the location and details myself, I just would like something to help give me a nudge in the right direction. TIA. |
Ladder.
I'm pretty sure there is no ladder model. In the map editor, you have t create them yourself. Sorry.

HI,
He is right. There is NO pre-made ladder in qradiant! You have to make it yourself.....piece by piece.. (very simple really) Just check out on of these sites: http://www.briandhayes.com/tutorials/mohradiant.htm http://www.dafront.com/~nemesis/ladder.htm That will help enough. If you still have problems or whatever...just email me Greetz, Rakavolver (leipieo@hotmail.com) |
Thanks for replying... The thing is, or my understanding is, that you can't add models to a server-side map fix if they're not in the pak files, right? That is, they won't show up for the client....?

*BUMP*
Can anyone tell me how to create a ladder of sorts for a server-sided map mod? It can't be too bulky (crates stacked up) because of the location (Algiers) and height. Help would be greatly appreciated. |
