Those people actually LIKE WWII online (aka the electronic money vacuum)????

and where's IL-2?
it's undoubtedly the best WWII flight sim (can't wait for their expansion and hope they make Western and Pacific front games)

aces of the pacific freak: i loved that game...

rudedog 11-05-2002 01:53 PM

Hey Sgt Stryker

I've been looking at IL-2. How is that flight sim. The best part of BF is flying IMO. and would love a game where flying is it's main theme.

does it require learning a 300 page manual to fly? just curious not that I will have time for another game and 3 web sites and 1 dedicated server. I think I also have a family around here somewhere?

World War Two Online 65.81% (485)
Aces High 2.17% (16)
Medal Of Honor Allied Assault 5.97% (44)
WarBirds III 0.27% (2)
Fighter Ace III 0.27% (2)
Battlefield 1942 25.51% (188)
damn looks like aa's getting there ass kicked

The difficulty/realism depends on how many options you select.
With less of the ultra-hard option selected you should be able to fly OK if you have previously played any flight sim.
The instruction book is pretty short and most of it is historical background.
Since this is a WWII sim, you basically need to know what buttons to push and a few aerobatic manuvers (unlike modern day sims where you have a shitload of electronic crap to figure out: radar, FLIR, smart bombs, etc)

IMHO the graphics are great and the AI is better that Janes WWII fighters (ie. they do more than play "chicken" with you)

i was wondering if that was any good
would i be able to use a joystick or is it better with a gamepad

How the hell did WWII Online get so many votes? That game sucked royal cock! Excuse my language but... jeez...

WWIIOnline--> comegetsome: <--MOHAA

rudedog 11-05-2002 02:52 PM

?? That's why I figured AA.com to the rescue

RushingWaters 11-05-2002 03:19 PM

I voted for MOHAA because it is the best, but the problemwith that kind of poll is that the site it is being hosted on is a WWII site, so most of the people there will vote for it, just like MOHAA would dominate(and rightfully so) on a poll like that here on AA.com. IT would be really cool if we could get enough people to vote over there to get a good percentage of the vote, so everyone vote and try to crash their party!

GhostRider2AD 11-05-2002 04:10 PM

Rude I gave my vote to MOHAA! Go! Go! Go! zooka:

Spiderm@n 11-05-2002 04:38 PM

i gave my vote to mohaa also, i don't think there will be a game that will beat it.

but if your talking all shoot 'em ups, i thing Vietcong will stand a chance.

Oldguy 11-05-2002 04:54 PM

Okay, I added mine to AA.
Wonder if I could like sit here for and hour and just keep going back to the site and voting over and over ??
Huh ? Whataya think ? biggrin:

I use a WIngman digital 3d with IL-2, no problem so far, except I fix teh z axis so I don't accidentally rudder when I'm dogfighting.
