I found something even funner, but even more expensive.
I will get a link when I get home because the site is on my home computer. anywho, it's called "Big Guns Naval Combat" basically you build warships (battleships, cruisers, destroyers, submarines) in 1:144 scale. You use a fiberglass hull but cut out fiberglass from deck level down to 1/2" below waterline, and cover it with balsa instead. the balsa is your "armor". The ships are RC and also have traversable BB-guns. the size of the gun and thickness of armor depends on the class of ship (battleship is heaviest and destroyer is light) destroyers also have "torpedoes" which are really battleship caliber guns hard mounted to point to the side and slightly down (so you have to get close to hit, like real torps) the ultimate objective is to SINK the other guy, but most of the time they run to their port while the pumps struggle to keep up with the water coming in. like in the tanks thing people can chose to go 1 on 1 or have whole task forces go at it. |
