do you have a firewall, obviously not? what I mean is what kind...

12-16-2002 11:18 PM

YEP

I've got the crappy WinXP (Pro) firewall plus PC-Cillin 2002 Firewall / virus scanner.

I don't really know if it blocked the attacks. It just tells me I have been attacked.... eek:

I Norton probably kicks it's ass but I only have the Chinese version of that and I can't read Chinese!

Old Reliable 12-16-2002 11:27 PM

why the chinese? lol

I live in Taiwan and it's so damn hard to find English programs here....

most of the time I have to obtain them through ... other means...

Thankfully MOHAA and SH are in English!

I strongly recommend you invest in Norton Anti-Virus 2002(not 2003, it has issues with XP, right now). I'm sure you can find that over there. Windows XP Firewall is good, but I would not put total trust in it to protect your computer.

Sotilas Jane 12-17-2002 12:29 AM

Nobody's attacking you.

That's just noise, echos in the net, and maybe even occasional port scanning (not aimed on you).

Also, if you run some fileshare program, or anything similar, then you're sure to get tons of those "attack" messages.

If someone would want to get you, you would be down already, so take it easy.
