bEST parts for your computer

Well it's that time of year......no wait it isn't...but I need some help getting parts for my computer and i'm doing it one part at a time, I was wondering if anyone could help me on these things...
my current ethernet card broke, but it still functions. the part where the plug goes into the card snapped off but it was soldered back together. should I get a new one? or would it not improve my connection.

also would this be a good case or is it a ripoff, and do I need to take anything else into consideration before buying a case? http://www.antec-inc.com/en_perf2_630.html

if its not broke, don't fix. Why waste money when the thing you got works?

Case looks ok, whats the price? usually cheap cases come with jaggy metal inside that likes to rip flesh ed:

well I'm not a computer expert and was just wondering...heh damn thing will probably break anyways.

whole list of prices here...I changed my mind and plan on paying extra for the larger case...

Your gonna need the key code if you want to have any updates. oOo:

Well, I don't know about the ethernet card or case, but I do have a tip for you if you are considering getting a new video card.

Get one that has Nvidia drivers, or you won't be able to play games like America's Army, Splinter Cell, Ravensheild or SWAT: Urban Justice (if SWAT: UJ is ever acctully released).

I just found out the hard way that my ATI card won't work with America's Army.

I got a CD key intrested, plus i already ran an update for drivers and it works perfect biggrin:

First off - there IS a work around for the so-called "updates"...

As far as "updating" anything NOT associated with Windows - its all free, and doesn't require a correct cd-key.

Shut up.

Ethernet card: Yes, get a new one. If you soldered it back on, so be it, but that dosen't mean it can't snap again. A PCI ethernet card by SMC or Lynksys woudn't cost you more than 20 bucks, most are about 10.

Case: Excellent case. That's the one I have but in black. The best part is the slide-out drive housing. It also comes with drive rails to easily remove drives, too. It has 5 Fan positions, that's including the power supplys. Go for it.

Video card: If you can afford it, go all out: Get a RADEON 9700 Pro or an GF4 Ti 4600.

thanks joe...did you get all 5 fans put in? I already have a radeon8500 and it works ok...I just dont have the money to spend on that yet

Yup! I bought 3 fans with the 3-pin adapter peice (Allows you to switch from 3-pin for the mobo to the 4-pin power supply connectors). I got 2 in the back & the power supply blowing air out, and 2 in the front having air come in.

where did you happen to find the lowest price (or get it from)
