How do you record ingame footage?

Fraps is good, but you get no sound and you have to set your resolution to the lowest setting to get some form of FPS. Its basic at best.

Check out GI Jerk's great guide over @ http://www.mohadmin.com.

Is there anyway I can get ingame footage that is decent by downloading something off the net? I have no hardware capability of doing this, I wish there was a program I could do it with and then go back and add sound.

Download the video from the second mirror.
That is an example of a Fraps movie encoded in MPEG-2

Ok how exactly do I tell if my pc has a video out or whatever port? On my card there is a place to plug the monitor in, and another round port, what is this for? Some USB thing? Do I need a newer Video Camera to do this in a half decent way?

Old Reliable 02-15-2003 10:49 PM

what type of video card, it has to have a TV feature

Duke_of_Ray 02-16-2003 08:46 AM

I think most of them come with an S-Video out, so you can clone it to a TV/VCR, record it, dump it back to the PC.

lysis 02-16-2003 03:55 PM

to get it back on your pc you need hardware, namely a video capture card

to do it by downloading free software get a program called fraps, http://www.fraps.com i think, and get a free program called virtualdub to shrink the vidz, encode it to divx 5 using virtualdub to make them small

Duke_of_Ray 02-18-2003 06:30 PM

Ok how would I exactly put it to my VCR? Just plug it up and play? I have Windows movie maker, came on my pc. Thanks for all the replys.

Duke_of_Ray 02-21-2003 11:37 PM

Do I need a special VCR, or do I just need a Sv video cabel, or whatever its called, for my VCR?
