Battlefield 1942 V1.3 Sound Fix!

Well, it's not offical from EA or Dice, but everyone I play the game with says this works fine. Much credit to Keiichi from http://www.planetbattlefield.com:

[quote:b5576]Go to the "Battlefield 1942\Mods\Bf1942\Settings" directory.
Open the "Default.con" file
Find the line "Sound.soundBufferCacheSize 100"
Change the value "100" to "1000"
That should do it.

I noticed about a 95% drop in the number of screeches and pops with Hardware Acceleration enabled and I don't seem to be experiencing any more chop when in sound-intensive areas.[/quote:b5576]

That should do it! Post here how it worked for you, I'm going to test it out in a few minutes.

What is it exactly that helps it? increasing something from 100 to 1000 sounds risky. What are we increasing?

I'm not sure what it increases exactly. But it got rid of most of the popping noises I was having.

Cool Fool 02-12-2003 09:30 PM

You gotta make sure you have Hardware Acceleration checked. Mines working great, sounds almost as crisp as normal actually.

Old Reliable 02-12-2003 09:41 PM

Sergeant_Scrotum 02-13-2003 06:53 AM
