Someone plz tell me how 2 check the FPS in the game

it dosent work in the demo I think shows crazy fps.

hit tilde key (~) and type fps 1
dont know how accurate it is, but... it was giving me between 40 - 70 ------------------ if you can see us............then you're already dead Ghost Soldiers, 6th Ranger Bn. |
my fps was: 20-30 .. pretty good for a 800 mhz computer and 512 ram.
