Help With Freelancer!
 

OK, first off, anyone whos played it (Retail or Demo), did you have sound issues? Only 50% of the time will I hear the characters voices. Otherwise, it's like their voices are muted. Anyone?

Secondly, I am up to this mission where I follow Juni around. I'm on this spacestation, and then I meet her in space. She says "We have to goto California Minor, we'll take the quick way" (It's right after the convoy attack, when following the nav bouys). Then, you get approached by 3 military ships. I can't hear what they say! The next objective is to "Awaiting further objectives" Now, I can't dock with anything, use the trade gates, etc. What the hells goin on?!

I never had any sound issues.

Did you try flying near all the gates and what not? Or did you try getting into formation with the ships?

I'm guessing since im in the middle of a mission, I cannot dock with anything, but I cant even use the trade gates.

As for the ships, yep, scanned them all. I just need to know what those damn ships say! cry:

Not scan.. formation. You know, the symbol with 3 ships at the top right?

I dont really have any sound issues but when ever the cutsences play it seems that the voice comes out at a different time when the mouth moves. So the animation plays fine but the sound is like 5 seconds late!
This also happens to me all the time in fucking quicktime.

Any fucking solutions goddamit?

For feck sake, I almost thought this would be different to the other 3 million posts asking for this sound bug fix.

Every single post like this has the same answer and it is that particular fix and it doesn't work for me because I don't have ANY of those files or programs on my pc!.

I'm not the only one, either.

Annoying as hell.

Ok, do you have the most up to date drivers for your sound card? What sound card do you have?

Yes, and I have an ancient Creative SB PCI 16. It's the oldest part of my PC.

I'll buy a decent SC by the time I buy FL and I'll install the lastest drivers then check out if this fix works for me.

It might be the OS you know... I have W98 still. That'll be upgraded as soon as I can fford a new HD as well.
