Normally you take the cue ball and strike another ball. But all the other balls seem to be the same color... hmmmm

Ah.

The majority of the balls are red on a snooker table. Even still, you don't strike the red balls directly...you still have to hit them with the cue ball.

Perhaps he's lining up his shot.....I do it all the time.
