You get Medals, so, yeah, he get promoted.

Well, medals has nothing to do with promotion. So who knows.

Thats a bit harsh, I can just imagine the Joint Cheif of Staff going "Lieutenant Mike Powell, infiltrated bases in North Afrika, Norway, stormed the beaches of Normandy, successfully completed over 30 missions. Hrmmm, nah he's not Captain material"
