If you took Bio come here plz!
Hey guys, i need help with these questions for my bio class and i would love it if you could!
1) How would knowing the carbon cycle be useful to biologist in making a study of food chains or food webs? *I finished this one* 2)The proteins in the cells of a wheat plant are different from the proteins in your cells. How can the difference be explained? What must happen when you use wheat as a nutrient for the formation of your proteins? 3)many botanists believe that the concentration of carbon dioxide in the air was much greater during the carboniferous period, when most of the large coal deposits were being formed, thean it is all present. What might be the basis for their belief? 4) in what ways do you contribute to the carbon cycle? 5) Are animals needed for carbon to cycle within a community? Explain 6) Do you think a sugar moecule has order and organization? How does this question relate the use of sugar as a source of energy by living things? 7) Imagine you could count the numbers of structures in one of your cells/ For each of the following pairs, choose one that would be more numerious in each cell: (a) atoms or prtons (b) nucleotides or DNA molecules;(d) enzymes or amino acids 8) In terms of calories why do you think seeds(small structures containing youg plants) and high in fat content? Examples are the peanut corn and sunflower seeds from which we get cooking oils. Why are such seeds good sources of food for humans. 9) Apply what you have learned about carbon dioxide and the carbon cycle to global warming. Suppose the temperature of the earth inreased by 5 c. What effects might this have? What if the tempeture increased 15 c? Ok guys sorry for the crappy typing. I just got raped by all my teachers with all this homework and i really need help with Bio because because its my weakest subject!! Also no crappy replies like i smell poo or something. |
I did 1,3,4,5,& 6
If you guys can help me out with 2 8 and 9 that be great |

you waited 4 minutes to bump?
dude, i ahve no idea. the last bio class i took was maybe 5 years ago. i could hazard a guess but they would probably be wrong. When i was your age, i didn't have a message board to ask questions on. I had to do it myself. happy: |

well, seeing how my major is a double, in biology and biochemistry:
to answer #8 8) In terms of calories why do you think seeds(small structures containing youg plants) and high in fat content? Examples are the peanut corn and sunflower seeds from which we get cooking oils. Why are such seeds good sources of food for humans. answer: Seeds are high in fat content because they need it. A seed is basically an egg of an unborn organism. If the organism is unborn, how is it going to get its nourishment? The oils inside the seed fuel the seed to grow into a seedling, and then into a well developed plant. Oil in a seed is analogous to the yolk of an egg, or the placenta of a fetus. It's a source of nutrients. Seeds are good for humans because the fat has more calories per gram. Fat (which is the oil) contains 9 calories per gram, whereas protiens and carbohydrates only contain 4 calories per gram. Gram for gram, fats are more loaded with energy. |
Why didn't you post on a bio fourm? I mean theres porn fourms so theres gotta be one or a couple bio fourms, You would get a faster answer and a better one at that

2). I dont know this one. All i can say is that the protein in a grain of wheat is stored in the endosperm (storage part of a seed). Also it is stored in the form of starch.
8). Seeds are high in calories because a seed is a capsule containing the young sporophyte (plant). The young plant needs nutrients to begin to survive and grow before it can begin to photosynthesize on its own. The primary meristem (part of the plant that grows first) grows downward and begins to form the roots before the cotyledons (leaves) grow above surface. These seeds are good for humans because they are higher in fat concentration than carbos and can be used for various products like the oils. 9). Well if the temperature increased it would most likely increase the carbon cycle production. Carbon and other greenhouse gases would be more plentiful probably. Im not too sure about that one. |
shit sorry for repeating what con brio said.
