Video Cards!
Hey,
Looking for a new Nvidia GeForce video card. Whats the best I can get for < $120? All the new numbers and stuff confuse me. FX what? Thank you kindly. Doesnt need AGP 8x, doesnt NEED 265 mb ram, although that may be nice. |
http://www.alliedassault.com/phpBB2/vie ... p?t=171828 that one there will save ya $35 bucks
|
I didnt want to hijak his post :)
Anyway, if I can get a card that will delay upgrading for a while, I want it. So, I'll pay 120. Is that card any good, anyway? Thanks |
120 bucks wont get ya a card that wil last long. The only suggestion i have if you can find it cheap enough would be a Geforce 4 4200 Ti or a Radeon 9500 or Radeon 9100/used to be called the(8500) card. 9100 can be great if you get a top line model version of it. Not a SE or LE version of it and will cost ya around 110 and last a good ways. the 9500 and 4200 amy bust the bank by 10 to 20 bucks but very worth the money.
9000 radeon really blows. 9200 radeon blows 5200 fx blows gt you may be interested in this http://www.newegg.com/app/viewProductDe ... archdepa=1 |
This is your best bet Rannoch
http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDe ... 295&depa=1 perfect. Good core speed and good mem. 256mb mem to. But shipping will send ya over a bit. -This one here wont break the bank on shipping but it isn't as nearly good a buy. http://www.newegg.com/app/Showimage.asp ... 012-07.JPG edit Both of these will give you good performance for 3 and a half years about. Hell my geforce Ti200 128 is still working great and its 3 years alomost now to. |
Yeah, like Short Hand says, its much better to get a card that will last longer.
That is a nice price for a ATI Radeon 9600 256 MB! You should get that, it'll last you for awhile, and it probably would work well on upcoming games too. You can get a Geforce 4 Ti4600 128 MB, it is slightly more than that, and I have it, so I think it works well, but pay less for more memory. |
I think the 9600 Pro 128 is the way to go. Its about 137 at newegg. Well, a little higher than I wanted, but oh well :)

Good choice

the pro is much better, good investment its worth the few extra bucks. rock:
