Far Cry Demo Technical Problems
 

Ok, after loading it all up it starts going a bit weird but I eventually get to the main menu screen, sort out controls, make sure no AA is on, usual settings although due to its limitations you can't change the renderer, etc

I start the demo, it loads up and this is the first thing I see........-->

I guess maybe I'll have to wait until the full game comes around eek:

My system:

WIN M.E
P4 1.5 GHZ
1023MB SDRAM
128MB DDR GEFORCE FX 5200, with latest drivers

Just moving my mouse around seeing the rader turn didn't cause any 'jerkiness' so from what I could tell its purely a software problem, somethings not compatible.

Any suggestions or am I doomed for all eternity??.............. cry:

This game is cool. Way. Just in the demo, there's like 6 ways to beat this one tiny objective. Its fun to play. Also, just getting in the buggy and driving up the mountain is awsome.



In game, go to the left most beach you can without getting owned by helicopters. There should be a buggy there and a couple guys. If no buggy, just a busted boat, then you need to do this:

Download that, put it in your /levels/fort directory. Tada, dune buggy. Also more enemies, barrels, steam, lights, and no heli's to eat you.

NO NEED TO WORRY, I SOLVED IT!!

Its supposedly an issue with Nvidia cards.....so all you need to do to fix this problem is'TURN ON FOG EMULATION IN THE DIRECT3D DISPLAY SETTINGS'

Done!


It requires a bit of a beast but it was playable on my pc and the multiplayer side to this game should be VERY interesting, especially with vehicles. As Miscguy mentioned, there will be moments and maps involving sniping heaven and some serious machine-gun boat battles rock:
