ahhhh i hate nvidia!!!!!
ok so i havent updated my drivers since late July when I got my upgrade. Anyways with my little old geforce 2 mx 400 I could play medal of honor, bf42 , NFS underground maxed out. So the other day I decided to update the drivers because people were saying how good it was. Anyways now when I try to play MOH it chugs worse than it did on my old 350mhz computer . FUCK YOU NVIDIA! Im buying ATI for my next card! cuss:

Just roll the driver back.
|
how do I do that?
|
Did you uninstall the old driver before you installed the new one? That may be it. Before you install the new driver, uninstall the old one. This might only apply to Win2k, but it worked for me.
|
dude, just install the old driver, no uninstalling or anything, it'll just overwrite. duh. i did it when the driver was fucking up my bf42.
|
You're using an MX card ? *pukes*
|
meh. I can still max out all the games. I think iv got it semi fixed. It looks like it changed my settings when it updated. I turned AA off & turned down some settings. seems to work better but still not as well as before.

I used to just install the new ones over the top and never noticed much improvement, but I did the above when I installed 53.03 divers and the improvement is great! (I'm such a bo0n oOo: ) got a P4 2.4 with a GeForceFX5600 and can run everthing maxed* out at 1280x1024 res. (CoD, Vice City, Mafia etc.) *well maybe not some of the high-end anti-aliasing options etc. |
old mx card can't pump out the new age dx 8.1 and 9.0 effects which those drivers activate and try and produce in game. Thats why. your best bet is the 41.09's. Det's. an newer on that old card isn't you best option. biggrin:

i got a new gf4 for like 60 dollars, not a bad deal and now i run a steady 50-70 fps on cs when everythinh is maxed out and i get around the same in mohaa when i was testing it out
|
ok iv had enough of this crap. how do I roll the drivers back or where can I find older drivers to install?
EDit: ok iv got the driver i want, an older one. now how do i uninstall my current one first? |
start settings control panel add/remove program
|
If you're running XP:
#1 - My Computer -> Properties #2 - Then go to the Hardware Tab, and select 'Device manager' #3 - Look for your Video Card under the 'Display Adaptors' heading #4 - Right click on it and select 'Properties' #5 - Select the Driver tab, then click 'Roll back Driver' I've never actually tried this, but the theory is perfectly sound. Good luck, old boy rock: |
Ok I got my old one installed. Thanks for the help guys.
