edit: in other comp |
I have lost a bit of respect for Nvidia lately with their change of stories. Now they only meant a 480 watt PS if you are overclocking? Does this mean that they support over clocking? Is my warranty not void now if I overclock my card since you now spec it to be overclocked? Before this it was the ps 3.0 vs 2.0 pictures that were total bullshit. Seems as though the truth keeps changing in the land of Nvidia. I have placed my order for a x800xt and look forward to be playing DOOM3, Halflife2 and Stalker at high resolutions and high framerates. annoy

A 350 watt power supply will provide enough juice for it, the issue is the number of connectors. Thats what the problem has always been, not this overclocking bullshit. The fact is the way nvida says the plugs must be managed is that both must come straight from the power supply and have nothing else on the line; Atleast before the card. Finding a 350 watt power supply with that number of connectors is an unlikly venture to say the least. Esspecially if you have 2 HD's, 2 optical drives, and a spliter running add on fans. At which point you should probably be running a better power supply simply because your system may require it with all the stuff in it.
