Memorial day...
Disclaimer: Dont shit on this thread it was meant to honor. Please, for honors sake.
This is a thread, for all of those who have died or killed in the name of freedom. Memorial day to most is just a day where they have off of school and work, which is bullshit. Memorial day should be a day where everyone sits around and drinks a few beers and thinks about what prior generations have done so that they can do the shit they do. This isnt just for the Americans, its for the Canadians, Aussies, Brits, Poles, Spaniards, Germans, and all those who have died in the name of freedom. |
RIP granpa, great grandpa.

my grandfather tried getting in during 1944 but the time his b-day came around the war was already over. he did manage to get his hands on many jap weapons that he now keeps in his basement along with a .45 and a garand.

I had a couple of relatives who served in WWII; one in the navy, another in the tank corps, and one in the OSS (all American). I had a bunch of relatives that lived in Russia during WWII...I also had a few scattered relatives in fighting in WWI (forget which armies some of them fought for lol, I'd have to ask my dad; he's a family history nut...oh yeah and one of them even won a medal). I wish I only could have met them before they died.
My grandpa also lived through WWII in Russia; he was very young though. R.I.P. all brave men and women who served for freedom. We will never forget. |
I had relatives fight on both sides in WW2, ironically enough, they both considered the war to be a war of freedom. Same thing during WW1, but we lost more family members in WW2 than in the Great War. RIP all.

My great uncle died in Italy during WWII. My late stepfather served during the Vietnam war and two of my friends also served in Vietnam.
My buddy's brother served in Desert Storm and came out unscathed, only to be murdered on the streets on NY! I tip my hat to all who served and gave the ultimate sacrifice to their Countries in the name of Freedom. |
