Why cant i play
 
i just bought CoD,installed it butwhen i try to play SP it said "please insert correct cd" i did all that but it still said insert it so i went to help and they said download a driver for my Nvidia Nforce thingy,i did ,but when i try to install it quits the installation process.........anyone else have this problem?

Uhm.. No.. I remember the first copys of the game had a dodgy CD 2, but that cant be the problem here..

Well, I beleive you must have the CD1 in to Play SP, for MP it just runs off your PC.

That's happening to me too now, Templar. I dunno what the fawk is going on.

MP is fine (no CD required) but SP is borked. It worked before...just not now.

fixed it you need 1.4 patch installed then install the GOTY pat......well thats if you have goty,i do,anyway install goty patch after 1.4 and it should work....ME= biggrin: biggrin: biggrin: biggrin: biggrin: biggrin: =HAPPY
[EDIT] heres the link to the help/goty fixer upper thingy majigger doodad....yep

http://www.activision.com/support then select platform,game name etc...and type "please insert correct cd" in the search thingy and ittl bring up crap just take yer pick................phew...........

try one of these,sry

If you do not then try the following:


Hold down the left shift key when inserting the game disc.


Make sure you have 32 bit drivers for your CD-ROM drive.


Set the CD-ROM cache size to zero.


Change the DMA setting on the CD-ROM drive.


Make sure the drive letters for the CD-ROM is set correctly.


Make sure that the location for CD music to play is set correctly.


Make sure your system can successfully play Audio CD's.


Turn off Auto Insert Notification.

this will also happen if you have any cd imaging software installed like alcohol , clone cd , cdrwin ,etc.
