Working with resolutions > 72
do any of you ?
i ve been working with files at 300 resolution @ 8.5 x 11 and its a wicked pain in the ass to edit since the processing time is quite a bit more than working with 72 resolution ... is there anyway to help this and speed up the proc time? |
Not really, unfortunately. Better hardware would seem to be the only remedy.
I've designed some graphics for print that were 300dpi and they did take a while to load in and deal with due to their huge dimensions. |

RAM actually does help substantially
i jumped from 256 PC2100 to 1024 PC3200 overclocked its not instant still, but it does speed up. |
Ive worked with that resolution before on iMacs...and it was speedy...but when I try on my PC...its sluggish as well...definatly get more RAM though...that will help a lot.

I regularly do 4x6 and larger pieces at 300 dpi at work on a really old and crappy PC. It's bad, but I manage. There's no need to use anything higher than 72 for web graphics though.
